Senior Software Engineer / Technical Lead (Java)

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer / Technical Lead with strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and modern cloud technologies to lead the design, architecture, and development of scalable enterprise-level applications. In this role, you will take ownership of complex technical initiatives, guide engineering teams, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions that address critical business needs.

As a Senior Software Engineer / Technical Lead, you will play a key role in defining technical direction, driving engineering best practices, and ensuring the successful delivery of reliable, maintainable, and high-performance systems. Your responsibilities will include hands-on software development, system architecture, technical leadership, and mentoring junior engineers while supporting cloud infrastructure and DevOps practices.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage technical discussions, and contribute to building scalable solutions across distributed systems and cloud environments.

Responsibilities

- Lead the design, development, testing, documentation, and maintenance of scalable, reliable, and high-performance enterprise software applications.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, guiding them through complex technical challenges, system design decisions, and problem-solving activities.
- Manage daily standups, Jira tasks, sprint updates, and technical discussions to ensure alignment with project goals and delivery timelines.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, product teams,



and cross-functional engineering teams to understand business requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
- Design and implement robust backend applications using Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and microservices architecture.
- Drive architectural decisions and contribute to system design, ensuring scalability, maintainability, reliability, and performance.
- Develop and maintain event-driven and distributed systems using messaging technologies such as Kafka and Amazon SQS.
- Participate in the design, implementation, and optimization of cloud-based solutions, preferably using AWS services.
- Support DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and cloud deployment processes.
- Design and implement comprehensive automated testing strategies, including unit, integration, regression, and load testing.
- Work with relational and non-relational databases, ensuring efficient data modeling, performance optimization, and data integrity.
- Identify and resolve complex technical issues, conduct root cause analysis, and lead cross-functional troubleshooting efforts.
- Implement and maintain application logging, monitoring, and observability solutions using tools such as New Relic and Splunk.
- Participate in on-call support during working hours to ensure application reliability and timely incident resolution.
- Conduct code reviews, enforce engineering best practices,



and promote high standards for code quality, security, testing, and automation.
- Demonstrate strong ownership, communication, and problem-solving skills while collaborating with distributed engineering teams.

Skills

- 8+ years of professional hands-on experience in software development, with strong expertise in system design, software architecture, and building enterprise-level applications.
- Strong proficiency in Java (required), including extensive experience developing scalable backend services and enterprise applications.
- Hands-on experience with Spring Boot and developing RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, software architecture, design patterns, and engineering best practices.
- Proven experience in technical leadership, mentoring junior engineers, and driving technical initiatives across engineering teams.
- Experience with messaging and event-driven technologies such as Kafka and Amazon SQS.
- Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with serverless technologies such as AWS Lambda is preferred.
- Experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitLab CI/CD and Terraform.
- Strong knowledge of automated testing methodologies, including unit, integration, regression, and load testing.
- Experience working with relational and non-relational databases such as PostgreSQL and DynamoDB.
