our client, a prominent financial services company, is seeking a highly experienced ingeniero de datos senior to join their innovative investigación y desarrollo team. This role, based in our zapopan, jalisco office, operates under a hybrid work model, promoting a blend of collaborative office work and remote flexibility. You will play a pivotal role in designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and infrastructure to support advanced analytics and machine learning initiatives. We are looking for a data architect with a passion for data quality, efficiency, and enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization. Your expertise will be crucial in shaping the future of our data platform.

key responsibilities

- design, develop, and optimize robust and scalable etl/elt data pipelines.
- build and manage data warehouses and data lakes on cloud platforms (e.g., aws, azure, gcp).
- implement data quality frameworks and ensure data integrity across all data assets.
- collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand their data needs and provide reliable data solutions.
- develop and maintain data models that support analytical and reporting requirements.
- monitor data pipeline performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement performance improvements.
- stay current with emerging trends and technologies in data engineering and big data.
- document data pipelines, data models, and data governance policies.




- provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior data engineers.

requirements

- bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- 5+ years of professional experience in data engineering or a similar role.
- strong proficiency in sql and experience with at least one major programming language (python, java, scala).
- hands-on experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., aws redshift, s3, glue; azure data factory, synapse; gcp bigquery, dataflow).
- experience with big data technologies such as spark, hadoop, or similar distributed processing frameworks.
- familiarity with data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and data governance.
- experience with orchestration tools like airflow or prefect.
- excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- strong communication and collaboration skills, suitable for a hybrid work environment.
