About the Role The Automation Lead is responsible for ensuring the reliability, continuity, and technical integrity of industrial automation systems. This role provides technical ownership of automation platforms, supports troubleshooting and system improvements, and ensures that changes to control programs, configurations, networks, recipes, parameters, and access permissions are properly controlled and documented.

Main Activities

- Maintain and support industrial automation systems, including PLCs, HMI/SCADA platforms, industrial networks, interfaces, and related control infrastructure.
- Provide technical ownership of Rockwell Automation architecture and maintain a clear understanding of system dependencies and configurations.
- Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis of automation-related failures, implementing corrective actions to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
- Maintain PLC programs, HMI/SCADA applications, and device configurations, ensuring version control, traceability, backups, and compliance with change-management procedures.
- Configure, test, and implement approved recipes, process parameters, control strategies, and automated sequences.
- Maintain current backups of critical automation programs and configurations and support recovery testing and restoration procedures.
- Administer automation-system access and permissions according to established authorization requirements.
- Maintain technical documentation, system configurations, and troubleshooting procedures, ensuring effective knowledge transfer to Maintenance and Operations teams.
- Identify system obsolescence, compatibility risks, critical spare parts, and automation lifecycle requirements, recommending upgrades and corrective actions.
- Support OT cybersecurity requirements, including access controls, secure connectivity,



network protections, remote access, and compatible system updates.
- Prepare technical assessments, testing evidence, and rollback plans for automation changes prior to production release.
- Participate in automation projects, acceptance testing, commissioning, and technical handover, ensuring documentation, backups, training, and operational readiness.
- Support automation-related incident recovery in coordination with Operations, Maintenance, IT/OT, Engineering, and external suppliers.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities related to equipment performance, automation reliability, lifecycle upgrades, and reduction of production downtime.

Qualifications and Skills

- Bachelor’s degree in Automation Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Industrial Automation, or a related engineering discipline.
- 5 years of experience in industrial automation within manufacturing environments.
- Experience working with Rockwell Automation platforms and industrial control architectures.
- Hands-on knowledge of PLC programming and troubleshooting.
- Experience with HMI/SCADA systems, industrial networks, control systems, and automation interfaces.
- Knowledge of automation software version control, system backups, configuration management, and change-control procedures.
- Experience troubleshooting automation failures and performing root cause analysis.
- Knowledge of industrial communication networks and OT environments.
- Understanding of OT cybersecurity, access management, and secure connectivity principles.
- Experience supporting commissioning, system testing, equipment modifications, and technical project handovers.
- Experience within FMCG, Food & Beverage, Pharmaceutical, Personal Care, or other highly automated manufacturing environments is preferred.
