About the Role

Our client, a prominent firm known for its complex logistical undertakings, is seeking a highly organized and adaptable Special Project Logistics Coordinator to manage unique and challenging transportation initiatives in Mérida, Yucatán . This hybrid role is designed for an individual who can expertly navigate non-standard shipping requirements, large-scale movements, and time-sensitive projects. You will be responsible for the end-to-end planning and execution of logistics for special projects, ensuring all requirements are met with precision and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan, coordinate, and execute all logistical aspects for special projects, including oversized or hazardous materials shipments.

- Identify and procure appropriate transportation resources, negotiating terms and rates with specialized carriers.

- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations pertaining to the transport of special project cargo.

- Develop detailed project logistics plans, including timelines, budgets, and risk assessments.

- Liaise with project managers, clients, and vendors to ensure clear communication and alignment on logistical requirements.

- Track project progress and provide regular status updates, proactively addressing any potential issues or delays.

- Manage documentation and permits required for special shipments.





- Oversee on-site logistics coordination during project execution as needed.

- Contribute to the development of best practices for special project logistics.

- Maintain accurate records and post-project analysis for continuous improvement.

Requirements

- Proven experience in logistics coordination, with specific experience managing special projects or non-standard shipments being highly advantageous.

- Strong understanding of various transportation modes and their suitability for different types of cargo.

- Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills.

- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and experience with project management or logistics software.

- Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.

- Detail-oriented with a strong aptitude for problem-solving and risk management.

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid work setting in Mérida, Yucatán .

- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
