Destination Manager – Mexico, Guatemala & Belize

Lead a destination, not just a department.

Caribbean Tours has been the B2B destination specialist for Mexico, Guatemala and Belize since 2000, creating tailor-made journeys, group tours, for tour operators and travel agencies across Europe.

We are looking for a skilled Destination Manager to lead our Playa del Carmen office. You will report directly to the Managing Director and run the destination as your own business: its team, product, suppliers and results.

What you will do

- Lead the team. Manage and develop the in-destination team, set clear objectives and build a high-performance, guest-centric culture.
- Own the product. Develop and improve the portfolio across three countries: new programmes, experiences and suppliers that match what European travellers are looking for.
- Deliver flawless operations. Oversee every booking from confirmation to post-trip follow-up, including emergency protocols and 24/7 support for travellers in the destination.
- Build partnerships. Negotiate rates and preferred terms with hotels, transport providers, guides and activity operators, and bring in new suppliers.
- Grow the business.



Share responsibility with the Managing Director for the destination P&L.; Grow revenue and margin through new trade partnerships, higher-value products and promotions.
- Represent Caribbean Tours. Be the main in-destination contact for tour operators and clients, host fam trips and site inspections, and represent the company with tourism boards and at trade events.

What you bring

- 8+ years in travel and tourism, including at least 5 in a leadership or management role
- Deep knowledge of Mexico, Guatemala and/or Belize: geography, culture, suppliers and tourism infrastructure
- A proven track record in product development, operations management or DMC/ground handling
- A commercial mindset, with results in growing revenue and improving margin
- Bilingual Spanish/English
- Calm judgement under pressure and a commitment to responsible, sustainable tourism

Nice to have

- Experience with European or Swiss tour operators
- Hands-on budget and P&L; management
- Experience in MICE, luxury, wellness, adventure or family travel
- Advanced German Language
