This role is essential for the successful transition of new chemical processes from laboratory development to pilot-scale and full commercial production. The adecuado candidate will possess a robust understanding of chemical engineering fundamentals, process scale-up methodologies, and manufacturing operations. You will be responsible for designing, executing, and optimizing pilot plant operations, troubleshooting scale-up challenges, and ensuring that processes are robust, safe, and efficient for large-scale manufacturing. Key Responsibilities Oversee and manage pilot plant operations, ensuring safe and efficient execution of experiments.
Lead the scale-up of chemical processes from laboratory bench to pilot and commercial scale.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues encountered during process development and scale-up.
Optimize process parameters to maximize yield, purity, and throughput while minimizing costs and waste.
Collaborate closely with R&D; chemists and engineers to define scale-up strategies.
Develop process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs;), and operational procedures for pilot and production units.
Ensure compliance with all safety, health,



and environmental regulations during scale-up and production.
Analyze process data and performance metrics to identify areas for continuous improvement.
Provide technical support to manufacturing teams during process implementation and optimization.
Evaluate and recommend equipment modifications or new installations for pilot and production facilities.
Requirements Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in process development, scale-up, and/or chemical manufacturing.
Proven experience in piloting and scaling up chemical processes.
Strong understanding of chemical reaction kinetics, thermodynamics, and mass transfer operations.
Hands-on experience with chemical processing equipment and instrumentation.
Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS) is highly desirable.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
Knowledge of process safety principles and hazard analysis techniques.
Experience with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) is a plus.
Fluency in Spanish; good working knowledge of English is advantageous.
