Position Overview We are seeking a strategic Engineering leader with extensive experience in Core Banking platform implementations and a proven ability to lead highly complex technology transformation programs. This role will play a key part in Meridian, a strategic initiative focused on building the technology and banking capabilities required to deliver financial services to corporate clients in the United States. The primary challenge will be to lead the implementation of a Core Banking solution, ensuring seamless integration with BBVA's technology ecosystem, Engineering standards, and operating model.

Key Responsibilities
• Core Banking Implementation: Lead the planning, implementation, and integration of a vendor-provided Core Banking platform, ensuring alignment with business, functional, and technology requirements.
• Strategic Program Leadership: Direct highly complex technology initiatives, ensuring the achievement of key milestones, effective prioritization, management of dependencies, and delivery commitments.
• Multidisciplinary Team Leadership: Lead a large-scale organization comprising internal talent, specialized teams, and external technology partners.
• Vendor Management: Oversee relationships with banking technology providers, consulting firms, and strategic partners involved in the implementation.
• Architecture & Integration: Collaborate with Architecture, Infrastructure, Security, Data, and Operations teams to ensure robust, scalable, and resilient technology integration.
• Business Alignment: Translate banking business needs into technology capabilities, solutions, and actionable implementation plans.
• Governance & Execution: Establish rigorous oversight of risks, dependencies, quality, and deliverables while maintaining end-to-end visibility across the program.
• Cross-Functional Leadership: Foster collaboration across global and local teams, driving the adoption of BBVA's Engineering standards, methodologies, and culture.



What We Are Looking For We are looking for an experienced technology executive with a strong background in banking technology and a proven track record of leading commercial Core Banking solution implementations within complex financial institutions. The idóneo candidate combines deep banking domain expertise, sound technology judgment, large-scale team leadership, and a strong results-driven mindset. Experience & Qualifications
• 8–10 years of relevant experience in Core Banking, software engineering, and mission-critical banking platforms.
• Demonstrated experience implementing and integrating vendor-provided Core Banking solutions.
• Knowledge of and hands-on experience with Finastra solutions is highly valued.
• Experience leading Core Banking implementation or transformation programs, preferably within U.
S. banking institutions.
• Proven track record of leading large-scale, multidisciplinary teams, including external technology providers and consulting partners.
• Strong understanding of banking systems architecture, systems integration, and technology dependency management.
• Experience in complex program governance, risk management, and engagement with executive-level stakeholders.
• Advanced English proficiency (C1). Education
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related field.
• Postgraduate degree in Technology, Business, or Executive Management (preferred). Key Competencies
