DescriptionIngredion is seeking a Payroll Specialist to enhance our payroll team. The Payroll Team provides support to the America’s based businesses in the areas of payroll processing & controls, payroll related reporting, Audit Support and Payroll analytics. The payroll specialist role will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll and will report directly to the Payroll Supervisor.Responsibilities:Own and manage workflow of pay groups as assigned to ensure bi-weekly payrolls are processed in a timely and accurate mannerProcess and audit employee updates as it relates to compensation, job changes, transfers, garnishments/levies and terminationsResolve payroll discrepancies, process adjustments, manual checksProvide excellent customer service to employee, vendor and manager inquiriesResponsible in ensuring that the appropriate approvals are received from the sites and performs follow-ups when required.Respond to tax notices and all other mailingsComplete verification of employment and unemployment requestsRespond to internal/external audits and reporting requests with the AnalystWork closely with Team Lead and Supervisor to continuously improve skills and knowledge of payrollWillingness to accept and complete other projects as assignedEnforce and maintain SOX & RACM compliance for policies and proceduresEscalate Issues that arise with urgencyOther Duties as assignedRequirements:University degree in Accounting or related field2+ years payroll experience including both exempt and non-exempt payroll and knowledge of union implications to payroll related processingStrong knowledge of policies and procedures of payrollDemonstrated ability to handle confidential materialAdvanced computer skills, including ExcelExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong organizational and time-management skillsHigh degree of accuracy and attention to detailExcellent and professional verbal and written communication skillsDemonstrated understanding of multi-state wage and labor lawsExcellent communication, customer service and organizational skillsContinuous improvement attitude to seek out and implement best practicesIngredion uses AI-enabled tools to support parts of the recruitment process, including resume screening and interview scheduling.
