A Day in Your Life at MKS:
As an **Inventory, Cost & Tax Specialist** at **MKS Instruments**, you will partner with **Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, Warehouse, and Manufacturing teams** to support inventory management, cost accounting, and tax compliance activities while ensuring accurate financial reporting and regulatory compliance. In this role, you will report to the **Principal Accountant**.
You Will Make an Impact By:
- Managing inventory accounting activities, including reconciliations, inventory valuation, cycle count reviews, and variance analysis.
- Supporting monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes related to inventory, cost accounting, and tax accounts.
- Analyzing standard versus presente costs and investigating cost variances to improve operational and financial performance.
- Preparing tax calculations, supporting schedules, tax reconciliations, and documentation required for compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Collaborating with Operations, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing teams to ensure inventory accuracy and compliance with established internal controls.
- Supporting internal and external audits by providing financial analysis, documentation, and process explanations related to inventory, costs, and taxes.
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes, strengthen controls, and increase efficiency within inventory, cost accounting, and tax-related activities.
- Maintaining compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and applicable tax regulations.
**Travel Requirements**: Up to 5**%** travel may be required.
**Skills You Bring**




Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum **2 years of job-related experience** in accounting, inventory management, cost accounting, taxation, or financial analysis.
Required Experience & Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of inventory accounting, inventory valuation methodologies, and inventory control processes.
- Experience with standard costing, cost variance analysis, and financial reporting.
- Knowledge of tax compliance requirements, including VAT (IVA), Income Tax (ISR), withholding taxes, and related reporting obligations.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, Power Query, lookups, and financial data analysis.
- Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP,
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in a cross-functional environment.
- Advanced English proficiency (written and verbal).
**Preferred Skills**
- Experience in a manufacturing, technology, semiconductor, chemical, or industrial environment.
- Knowledge of IFRS,



US GAAP, and SOX compliance requirements.
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other business intelligence and reporting tools.
- Exposure to multinational corporate environments.
- Experience supporting tax audits and statutory compliance reviews.
- Continuous improvement or Lean process improvement experience.
**Supervisory Scope**
Reporting Relationships
- Reports directly to the **Principal Accountant**.
Financial Responsibilities
- Responsible for maintaining the integrity of inventory balances, cost accounting transactions, tax-related accounts, and associated financial reporting.
- Supports inventory valuation reviews, cost analyses, and tax compliance activities impacting financial statements.

- May occasionally support physical inventory counts in warehouse or manufacturing environments.
