Job Description Capgemini is seeking a Senior SAP ABAP Developer with 8+ years of hands-on experience in SAP custom development, technical design, integrations, enhancements, and production support.
The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in ABAP development across SAP ECC and S/4HANA environments and be capable of delivering complex technical solutions while mentoring junior team members.
This role requires strong analytical skills, end-to-end ownership of development activities, and the ability to work closely with functional consultants, business stakeholders, and technical teams to design, build, and support enterprise SAP solutions.
Key Responsibilities - Lead the design, development, testing, and deployment of complex SAP custom solutions.
- Develop and maintain RICEF objects (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, and Forms).
- Translate Functional Specifications (FS) into Technical Specifications (TS) and provide solution recommendations.
- Design and develop integration solutions using BAPIs, RFCs, IDocs, Web Services, and APIs.
- Implement enhancements using BAdIs, User Exits, Enhancement Framework, Enhancement Spots, and Function Modules.
- Develop and optimize Object-Oriented ABAP (OO ABAP) applications.
- Create and maintain complex Adobe Forms, Smart Forms, and SAP Scripts.
- Develop advanced ALV reporting solutions and custom analytical reports.
- Perform code reviews and enforce development standards and best practices.




- Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues through advanced debugging and root cause analysis.
- Support SAP upgrade, migration, and S/4HANA transformation projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams during project delivery, testing, cutover, and hypercare phases.
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to technical knowledge sharing.
- Ensure compliance with security, quality, and change management procedures.
Required Skills & Experience - 8+ years of SAP ABAP development experience.
- Strong expertise in Object-Oriented ABAP (OO ABAP).
- Extensive experience developing: - Reports - Interfaces - Conversions - Enhancements - Forms (RICEF) - Advanced knowledge of: - BAPIs - RFCs - IDocs - BDCs - Function Modules - SAP Data Dictionary - Enhancement Framework - BAdIs - User Exits - Hands-on experience with: - Adobe Forms - Smart Forms - SAP Scripts - ALV Reports - Strong debugging and performance tuning skills.
- Experience supporting SAP ECC and S/4HANA environments.
- Knowledge of transport management and SAP development lifecycle.
- Strong understanding of SAP integration concepts.
- Experience working in support and project environments.
Preferred Qualifications - Experience with SAP S/4HANA custom code remediation and optimization.
- Knowledge of: - CDS Views - OData Services - SAP Fiori - AMDP - HANA Optimization Techniques - Experience in integral delivery environments.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
- Knowledge of ITIL processes and ITSM tools such as ServiceNow.
- SAP ABAP certification is considered a plus.
