Job Title: Architectural Designer – Retail – Mid level to Senior
Department: Architecture - Retail

GENERAL SUMMARY:
The position of Architectural Designer works to support a team of architects and designers working with well-known international retail brands. Previous experience in the design of projects for the retail industry is desirable.
This position is based in our CDMX office; the position does not offer any remote work options.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This role may supervise other junior architects or interns.

- Support project teams with presentations, schematic design, design development, and construction documents.
- Prepare, revise, and coordinate architectural drawings and documentation in AutoCAD and Revit.
- Coordinate project information with clients, internal teams, general contractors, and consultants, including structural, MEP, lighting, landscape, civil, and other specialty disciplines.
- Produce contract documents that comply with applicable building codes, zoning regulations, client standards, and project requirements.
- Review and update drawings based on redlines, consultant input, field conditions, and project team direction.
- Assist with site planning, site development analysis,
and documentation for retail and commercial projects.
- Participate in client, consultant, and internal coordination meetings, and communicate action items clearly to the project team.
- Support construction administration activities, including field observations, review of submittals/RFIs as assigned, and coordination of documentation updates.
- Maintain project files, drawing sets, specifications, and related documentation in an organized and timely manner.
- Perform self-quality control of drawings and deliverables prior to review by supervisor(s).
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Strong architectural design, documentation, and presentation skills.
- High proficiency in current versions of AutoCAD and Revit is required.
- Proficiency in SketchUp, 3D Studio Max or Archicad, Photoshop, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction, while also collaborating effectively within a team.
- Strong coordination and communication skills with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal project teams.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform self-quality control of drawings and deliverables.
- Knowledge of construction documents, building codes, zoning requirements, and project coordination standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Architecture.
- 5+ years of professional experience in architectural practice.
- Experience with commercial, retail, mixed-use, or multifamily projects preferred.
- Experience with U.S.-based or international projects preferred.
- Familiarity with U.S. design standards and multinational project delivery environments preferred.
- Experience preparing and coordinating construction documents through multiple project phases.
- Working knowledge of construction regulations, building codes, zoning requirements, and permitting processes.
- Experience with site planning and site development analysis preferred.
- Construction administration experience preferred.
- Ability to manage concurrent projects in different stages of development.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with internal teams, consultants, and clients.
