This role will be key to ensuring operational excellence and scalable growth in Mexico.
Position Summary
The Supply Chain Director will be a key leader within the operations team in Mexicali, responsible for overseeing and optimizing the entire supply chain for the company's manufacturing operations. This includes planning, procurement, logistics, inventory control, and supplier development, ensuring supply continuity, cost efficiency, and compliance with quality and delivery standards. This role will work closely with engineering, architecture, plant management, and other cross-functional teams to implement supply chain strategies that support the production of high-quality modular units and drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement supply chain strategies to ensure supply continuity, inventory efficiency, and cost reduction.
- Manage the end-to-end supply chain process, including raw material sourcing, contract negotiations, purchase order creation, material planning, import/export documentation, and logistics scheduling through final product delivery.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to produce accurate bills of materials, manage engineering change orders, expedite materials, and prepare cost estimates for new products.
- Conduct root cause analysis to identify and resolve supply chain issues.
- Design and deliver executive reports using supply chain data to identify trends, provide insights, and inform decision-making.
- Utilize PLM and MRP/ERP systems (e.g., Arena PLM, NetSuite) to manage efficient purchasing, maintain adequate inventory levels, and ensure on-time production.
- Monitor supplier performance and negotiate contracts to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and on-time delivery.
- Implement best practices in supply chain management to improve operational efficiency.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, operations management, construction management, logistics, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- 7–10 years of experience in supply chain management or procurement leadership roles, preferably in modular manufacturing, construction, or complex industrial operations.
- APICS or similar supply chain management certifications (preferred).
- Manufacturing experience in Mexico, including planning, inventory control, supplier management, import/export, trade, and tax.
- Strong knowledge of Arena PLM, Netsuite MRP/ERP, or similar systems.
- Proficiency in inventory control techniques, demand planning methodologies, and contract terms.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and generate actionable insights.
- Problem-solving expertise, including root cause analysis and 8D methodology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, influence stakeholders, and develop long-term partnerships.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish with the ability to work effectively in multinational environments.
