The Planner Buyer is responsible for ensuring the seamless flow of materials to support production schedules while optimizing inventory levels. This role bridges production planning and procurement, executing material requirements planning (MRP) for high-volume bills of materials (BOMs)
and managing supplier relationships to prevent stockouts in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
This position reports directly to the Planning & Fulfillment Manager and is based at our Matamoros, Tamaulipas facility.
Key Responsibilities
As Planner Buyer, you will:
Procurement & Supplier Management:
- Issue, manage, and track Purchase Orders (POs) for raw materials, electronics, and sub-assemblies.
- Negotiate delivery schedules, monitor supplier performance metrics (OTIF - On-Time In-Full), and resolve issues related to delayed shipments, quality discrepancies, or invoicing errors.
- Execute contingency plans and coordinate with alternative suppliers when primary supply chains are disrupted.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Partner with Engineering on the phase-in/phase-out (PIPO) of components for new product introductions or engineering change orders (ECOs).
