Health and safety coordinator

Primary Functions:

1. Support cross-functional projects and continuous improvement initiatives related to EHS performance.
2. Administer health and wellness initiatives, including medical surveillance programs and random drug testing.
3. Coordinate emergency response plans, drills, and preparedness activities for the site.
4. Support budget planning activities and monitor EHS-related expenditures to ensure efficient resource utilization.
5. Coordinate external EHS audits, evaluations, and training activities to maintain compliance and certification requirements.
6. Communicate EHS requirements, policies, and site expectations to employees, visitors, and contractors.
7. Manage hazardous waste handling, disposal, and recycling programs in accordance with applicable regulations.
8. Develop and deliver EHS training programs to promote employee awareness and regulatory compliance.
9. Ensure compliance with EHS programs, procedures, and site requirements to achieve established safety objectives.
10. Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions.
11. Initiate immediate corrective actions to address unsafe conditions and environmental concerns.
12. Conduct routine safety and environmental inspections, audits,



and assessments to identify and mitigate risks.
13. Track, analyze, and report EHS performance metrics to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
14. Lead the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the EHS Integrated Management System (ISO 14001 and ISO 45001).
15. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental, health, and safety regulations.

Candidate Profile:

1. Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Occupational Safety, or a related discipline.
2. Strong analytical, organizational, and troubleshooting capabilities with attention to detail.
3. Experience working with internationally recognized standards such as ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
4. Solid understanding of management systems, regulatory compliance, and workplace safety practices.
5. Advanced English communication skills, both written and verbal; bilingual proficiency preferred.
6. Three or more years of professional experience supporting Environmental, Health & Safety programs within a manufacturing environment.
7. Monitor implementation of corrective and preventive actions to ensure sustainable compliance and risk reduction.
