Work Arrangement: 100% onsite at the assigned manufacturing facility.
Contract: 12-month project-based assignment.
Daily Responsibilities
PC / Mac Support and Lifecycle
PC lifecycle activities primarily supporting shop floor and engineering users, including:
PC/Mac builds and transfers for new deployments
Hardware break/fix assistance
Post imaging setup, including installation of local site applications and device configuration for end user readiness
End user data transfer support during PC/Mac refresh or replacement
Client connectivity and configuration support (network, printing, scanning)
Software Support
Resources may be requested to perform:
Operating system troubleshooting and reloading of core images (including data transfer when required)
Support for GE Vernova standard images and approved software (e.g., Windows OS, macOS, Microsoft Office, GE Vernova core applications)
Support for local site, manufacturing, and engineering applications
Desktop configuration, software installation/removal, driver updates, and virus remediation
Telephony and Mobile Device Support
Identify and resolve end user connectivity issues, including those resulting from IMAC activities
Provide basic mobile device support (e.g., GE Vernova application installation and basic troubleshooting)
Identify and resolve telephony service delivery issues (configuration and hardware), coordinating with third party providers and GE Vernova staff as approved
Printer Support
Assist with basic printer troubleshooting as directed by GE Vernova, including paper jams, toner replacement, and basic configuration
Coordinate with GE Vernova Facilities and managed print service providers
Conference Room Support
Assist GE Vernova Facilities and external vendors with conference room maintenance, including PCs, phones, and audio visual equipment
Operational Technology (OT) Support
Assist with manufacturing technology equipment, including but not limited to:
PCs connected to manufacturing equipment
Thin clients
Legacy operating systems
Barcode readers and label/barcode printers
Network Physical LAN Support
Provide “hands and eyes” support for physical tasks (e.g., reboots, physical swaps, software upgrades) under GE Vernova guidance
Non Business Hours support will be scheduled by mutual agreement
Perform basic cabling tasks, including patching and cable management
Physical Server / NAS Support
Provide “hands and eyes” support for servers and NAS during Standard Business Hours
Non Business Hours support will be scheduled by mutual agreement
Site Disaster Preparation and Recovery
Assist sites with IT infrastructure preparation for natural disasters, including data backup and equipment shutdown in accordance with GE Vernova policies
Basic Trouble shooting (camera not working, reader offline)
Checking power/network connectivity
Coordinate with security vendors or IT teams
Act as "hands and feet" onsite-not deep technical troubleshooting or engineering
Server Support
Assist with server installation, configuration, and maintenance
Assist with backup, recovery, and security procedures
Support resolution of server hardware and application issues
Detect, diagnose, and report application‑related problems
Install software releases, system upgrades, and patches
Network and Network Management Support
Perform approved network administration tasks (planned or emergency)
Assist with network installation, configuration, and maintenance
Support resolution of network hardware and performance issues
Project Management
Facilitate change‑management processes with GE Vernova
Evaluate technologies and tools and provide recommendations aligned with GE Vernova standards
Establish and document standards and procedures for management review
Maintain data, software, hardware security, and emergency procedures
Requirements
2+ years of experience providing onsite IT support, Desktop Support, or Deskside Support in a corporate or manufacturing environment.
Experience supporting Windows 10/11 and/or macOS operating systems.
Strong troubleshooting skills for hardware, software, and peripheral devices.
Experience with PC deployment, imaging, refresh, migration, and IMAC (Install, Move, Add, and Change) activities.
Experience supporting Microsoft Office and other standard business applications.
Knowledge of Active Directory for basic user account administration (password resets, account unlocks, group membership, etc.).
Basic understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN/Wi‑Fi connectivity, and network troubleshooting.
Experience supporting printers, scanners, barcode readers, and other peripheral devices.
Ability to troubleshoot mobile devices and basic telephony issues.
Basic knowledge of Windows Server environments, NAS, and server hardware support is preferred.
Experience providing "Hands & Eyes" support for network and server teams is a plus.
Experience supporting manufacturing or operational technology (OT) environments is highly preferred.
Familiarity with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow or similar ITSM platforms.
Excellent customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
Ability to lift and move IT equipment as needed.
Willingness to work 100% onsite in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting manufacturing floor devices, such as thin clients, industrial PCs, barcode scanners, and label printers.
CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft certifications are a plus.
Experience with conference room technology and audiovisual equipment.
Experience participating in IT infrastructure projects, hardware refreshes, or office moves.
