Job Description POSITION DESCRIPTION POSITION TITLE 7th Grade Technology Teacher
REPORTS TO Middle School Coordinator
POSITION SUMMARY The 7th Grade Technology Teacher is responsible for developing students’ technological literacy, computational thinking, creativity, and problem‑solving skills through engaging, hands‑on learning experiences. The teacher integrates emerging technologies, coding, robotics, digital media, artificial intelligence, and design thinking into the curriculum while fostering innovation, collaboration, and responsible digital citizenship.

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Educational Technology, Educational Innovation, Robotics, or a related field.
Master’s Degree in Educational Technology or a related field preferred.
Previous teaching experience at the middle school level preferred.
Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.
Strong classroom management and student engagement skills.
Ability to design project‑based and inquiry‑driven learning experiences.
Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
Technical Knowledge and Skills
Microsoft 365 Suite
Apple Ecosystem (i Movie, Garage Band, Pages, Numbers, Keynote)
Basic to intermediate programming skills (Python, Swift Playgrounds, and related platforms)
Web design and development using HTML
Educational robotics platforms and robotics instruction
Digital video and audio production
Digital animation and multimedia creation
Artificial Intelligence applications in education
Creation and implementation of educational chatbots and AI‑assisted learning experiences
Digital citizenship, cybersecurity awareness, and responsible technology use
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Teach Technology courses to Middle School students in alignment with the school’s curriculum and educational philosophy.
Develop engaging lessons that promote computational thinking, creativity, innovation, and problem‑solving.
Teach coding concepts through age‑appropriate programming platforms and languages.
Facilitate educational robotics projects and hands‑on STEM learning experiences.
Introduce students to web design concepts using HTML and related technologies.
Teach digital media production, including video editing, audio production, and animation.
Guide students in the ethical and responsible use of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies.
Design and supervise technology‑based projects that integrate creativity, collaboration, and real‑world applications.
Support students in developing digital citizenship skills and responsible online behavior.
Utilize Microsoft 365 and Apple‑based applications to enhance student learning and productivity.
Maintain a safe, organized, and innovative learning environment.
Assess student progress and provide timely feedback to students and parents.
Collaborate with faculty to integrate technology across subject areas when appropriate.
Stay current with developments in educational technology, artificial intelligence, coding, robotics, and digital learning tools.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Participate in school events, STEM initiatives, technology showcases, and special projects.
Assist with technology‑related extracurricular activities, clubs, competitions, or events.
Support faculty and students in the effective use of educational technology resources.
Attend faculty meetings, professional development sessions, and school‑wide activities.
Perform other duties as assigned by the administration.
