The RoleThe Project Engineer II is responsible for leading and executing capital investment projects from concept development through implementation and successful startup within a manufacturing environment.
This role ensures projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with engineering, quality, and operational standards while supporting the company's strategic growth and operational objectives.What You'll Do (Impact Areas)Project Management & ExecutionLead capital investment projects from initial concept through commissioning and final handoff.Develop project business cases and define project scope, schedule, cost, and resource requirements.Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions to maintain commitments related to timing, budget, and quality.Coordinate project shutdowns, installations, equipment relocations, and facility expansion activities while minimizing production impact.Engineering & Technical LeadershipCoordinate engineering activities and collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure compliance with company standards and technology requirements.Review engineering designs, specifications, calculations, and technical documentation.Support equipment startup, commissioning, and validation activities with suppliers and internal stakeholders.Contractor & Supplier ManagementDefine scopes of work and manage bid processes for contractors and suppliers.Evaluate proposals and select vendors based on quality, safety, cost,
and project requirements.Coordinate contractor activities to ensure compliance with engineering specifications and safety standards.Financial & Budget ManagementDevelop project budgets and monitor capital expenditures throughout project execution.Track project cash flow and approve project-related invoices based on documented progress and deliverables.Prepare reports and presentations outlining schedule performance, budget status, risks, and mitigation plans.Operational Excellence & ComplianceDrive continuous improvement and innovation initiatives, including support for Green Belt projects.Ensure compliance with company quality, environmental, health, and safety management systems.Maintain project documentation including drawings, work instructions, maintenance documentation, spare parts lists, and operating manuals.What Success Looks LikeCapital projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to approved scope.Equipment installations and startups are completed successfully with minimal operational disruption.Contractor and supplier performance meets safety, quality, and delivery expectations.Project risks are identified early and effectively mitigated.Monthly project reviews demonstrate accurate budget control and schedule adherence.Continuous improvement initiatives generate measurable operational benefits.Strong partnerships are built with manufacturing, engineering,
