Overview:
**Responsibilities**:
**Representative Duties**:
- Assist in setting the direction in dimensional metrology and teach applicable engineering principles in support of Shure's current and future products and processes.
- Responsible to develop and standardize measurement methodologies, and operator training.
- Assess metrology equipment capabilities as well as procure and implement new equipment as needed.
- Identifies technology gaps and develop technology plans to support the current and future specification needs.
- Utilize expertise to support optimum design of fixturing, tooling, machines, sensors, and measurement systems through interaction and working relationships with Design Engineering (product and machine)
- Influence the supplier base by evaluating and aligning supplier measurement capabilities as they relate to our products requirements.
- Develop and maintain expertise standing in the field of dimensional metrology through networking, research, and continuous education.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
Graduate coursework is desirable.
- 0- 2 years of experience.
- English Proficiency 80%
- General knowledge of dimensional metrology and/or an applied technology in that field.
- Experience should exist in the following areas:




- Use and specification of precision measurement equipment in a metrology environment,
- Working with cross-functional teams including customers and/or suppliers,
- Technical writing of specifications and procedures
- Preferred: ASME Certified Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing Professional, Senior level.
- Able to use professional concepts in developing resolution to critical issues and broad design matters.
