FOX LATAM is seeking a Standards and Procedures Manager to support the review and distribution of content across its linear television, digital, streaming, social media, and promotional platforms throughout Latin America.
Based in Mexico, this role will help ensure that programming, advertising, promotions, and related materials comply with applicable laws, regulatory requirements, internal policies, contractual obligations, and FOX’s editorial and brand standards. The successful candidate will work closely with Legal, Programming, Production, Marketing, Advertising Sales, Compliance, and other regional and global stakeholders.
The position requires sound judgment, a strong understanding of the media and entertainment industry, and the ability to provide clear, practical guidance in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Review programming, live and recorded productions, advertising, promotions, trailers, social media content, and other materials for compliance with applicable standards, internal policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Identify and assess content-related risks, including those involving violence, sexual content, offensive language, discrimination, minors, privacy, consumer protection, product placement, advertising restrictions, political and electoral content, gambling, alcohol, tobacco, and other regulated products or activities.
- Provide timely and practical guidance to Programming, Production, Marketing, Advertising Sales, Digital, and other business teams, balancing legal and reputational risk with editorial and commercial objectives.
- Support live broadcasts and time-sensitive productions by advising on sensitive content and recommending appropriate mitigation measures, including edits, warnings, classifications, scheduling restrictions,
or other safeguards.
- Monitor relevant legal and regulatory developments across Latin America and assess their potential impact on FOX’s television, streaming, digital, and advertising operations.
- Develop, implement, and maintain regional standards, review procedures, escalation protocols, playbooks, and internal guidance.
- Coordinate with local and regional Legal teams to ensure appropriate treatment of country-specific requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of content reviews, decisions, approvals, and escalations.
- Assist with internal investigations, regulatory inquiries, audience complaints, and other matters involving content or advertising standards.
- Develop and deliver training for employees, production personnel, and relevant third parties on content standards, advertising requirements, and internal procedures.
- Promote consistent decision-making across the region while recognizing cultural, legal, and regulatory differences among Latin American markets.
- Manage relationships with external counsel, consultants, and other specialists when necessary.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Law or a related field. A law degree is preferred but not required.
- At least five years of relevant experience in television, streaming, digital media, advertising, content regulation, compliance, production, or a related area.
- Experience reviewing audiovisual, promotional,
or advertising content, preferably across multiple Latin American markets.
- Familiarity with media, advertising, consumer protection, privacy, intellectual property, and content-classification requirements in the U.S, Mexico and other Latin American jurisdictions.
- Strong judgment and the ability to evaluate legal, regulatory, editorial, cultural, and reputational considerations.
- Ability to communicate complex requirements clearly and provide practical, business-oriented recommendations.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Ability to work collaboratively with creative, commercial, operational, and legal teams.
- Fluency in Spanish and English, both written and spoken.
- Availability to provide support outside regular business hours when required for live programming or urgent content matters.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with sports, news, entertainment, or live-event programming.
- Experience working for a broadcaster, streaming platform, production company, advertising agency, telecommunications company, or media regulator.
- Knowledge of digital platforms, social media, influencer marketing, branded content, and emerging forms of content distribution.
- Experience developing policies, conducting training, and managing cross-functional projects across multiple countries.
