Guadalajara, Mexico | Posted on 14/07/2026We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Finance Officer – Tax to join our growing Finance team based in Guadalajara, Mexico.
This role is responsible for ensuring full tax compliance across both Mexico and the United States, supporting tax planning, reporting, audits, and cross-border tax matters.The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Mexican and U.S. tax regulations, a passion for accuracy and compliance, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced international environment.
Experience within the agriculture, agribusiness, grower accounting, or fresh produce industry will be highly advantageous.
Please note that all applications and CVs must be submitted in English in order to be considered for this position, as English proficiency is a key requirement of the role.Key Performance OutputsTax Compliance & ReportingPrepare, review, and submit federal and state tax returns for U.S. entities, including income tax and sales/use tax.Ensure compliance with Mexican tax obligations, including IVA, ISR, and local tax filings.Monitor tax deadlines and ensure all filings and payments are made accurately and on time.Maintain and update tax compliance calendars for both Mexico and the U.S.Tax Accounting & ReconciliationsSupport monthly, quarterly, and annual tax provisions in accordance with applicable accounting standards.Reconcile current and deferred tax accounts.Ensure proper tax treatment, documentation, and reporting of intercompany transactions.Cross-Border Tax CoordinationSupport transfer pricing compliance and documentation between Mexican and U.S.
entities.Collaborate with external tax advisors on international tax matters and legislative updates.Analyze tax implications of cross-border transactions and business operations.Audit & Regulatory SupportCoordinate and support tax audits with Mexican authorities (SAT) and U.S. agencies (IRS and state tax authorities).
Prepare supporting documentation and respond to tax-related inquiries.Assist with statutory audits involving tax compliance and reporting.Process Improvement & ControlsIdentify opportunities to enhance tax processes, reporting accuracy, and compliance efficiency.Maintain strong internal controls and tax documentation standards.Support the implementation of automation initiatives and system improvements related to tax and finance processes.RequirementsQualifications & ExperienceEducationBachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.Tax & Accounting Experience3–5 years of experience in tax compliance, preferably covering both Mexican and U.S. tax requirements.Strong knowledge of Mexican tax regulations (SAT, IVA, ISR).
U.S. federal and state tax requirements.International tax treaties and financial reporting standards (NIF/IFRS).
Experience working within multinational or cross-border business environments.Familiarity with transfer pricing concepts and documentation.Experience in agriculture, agribusiness, grower accounting,
or the fresh produce industry would be advantageous.Systems & Technical SkillsProven experience with process automation and accounting systems.Experience with ERP systems, preferably NetSuite.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly: ExcelTeamsOutlookExperience using Mexican government and financial portals, including: SATIMSSInfonavitSUAOnline banking platformsLanguage RequirementsAdvanced English and Spanish proficiency, both written and verbal.Strong analytical and problem‐solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold high ethical standards.Self‐motivated and capable of working independently in a remote or home‐office environment.Able to manage multiple priorities and perform effectively under pressure.Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work across cultures and time zones.Proactive mindset with a strong focus on compliance, risk management, and continuous improvement.Customer‐focused approach with excellent stakeholder management skills.Additional RequirementsAvailability to provide occasional weekend support when required.Why Join Us?
