**About This Role**
- The Sponsorship Specialist is a key leadership position responsible for managing, guiding, and improving the sponsorship area at both strategic and operational levels.
This position works closely with local partners, external teams, senior management, and internal teams to drive excellence in sponsorship operations, enhance the donor-child relationship, and ensure compliance with organizational policies.
The role involves leadership in overseeing the operations, monitoring the quality of sponsorship interactions, and managing change processes across the sponsorship team.
Additionally, the Sponsorship Specialist is responsible for championing the safeguarding of children within all sponsorship activities and ensuring that all operational practices align with ChildFund's child protection standards.
**Required Experience and Education**
- Bachelor's degree in administration, finance or social studies or relevant field,
or equivalent experience in the sponsorship, development, or community management sectors.
- Required at least 5 years of experience in sponsorship, community development, operations management, or related fields.
- Proven leadership and team management experience.
- Required experience in vendor and stakeholder management, including training and relationship building.
This position requires a valid driver's license and the ability to travel at least once a month to different program locations within the country.
**Primary Responsibilities**
**Strategic Leadership**
- Responsible for the design of the Sponsorship Strategy for CO México along with International Office.
- Oversee the development and execution of the sponsorship program at a country level, ensuring strategic alignment with ChildFund's objectives and sponsor-child relationship quality.
- Act as the main point of contact between the Country Office, International Office, Regional Office, Alliance members and local partners to ensure consistent communication and operations continuity.
- Ensure the integration of sponsorship activities with child-focused programs at the country level, ensuring that both operational needs and child welfare are prioritized.
- Lead change management efforts within the sponsorship team and across local partners to improve operational effectiveness.
- Supervise and mentor the sponsorship team, ensuring continuous training, development,
and performance improvement.
- Manage the sponsorship budget and annual operating plan, tracking spending and resource allocation to meet both country-level and general objectives.
**Operational Oversight**
- Coordinate and ensure the timely production of child materials (such as letters, photos, and updates), ensuring they meet quality standards and are delivered to sponsors.
- Develop and monitor the implementation of corrective action plans with local partners to address operational challenges.
- Manage the operational aspects of sponsorship, including tracking child inventories, cancellations, and material distribution.
- Troubleshoot and resolve escalated operational and quality issues, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
- Ensure local partners adhere to ChildFund's sponsorship policies, including data protection, timeliness, and communication protocols.
- Oversee timely and efficient coordination of VIP visits from sponsors, donors, and other stakeholders, ensuring a high-quality experience that reflects ChildFund's mission and values.
**Child Safeguarding & Ethical Standards**
- Ensure all sponsorship activities adhere to ChildFund's child safeguarding policy, promoting the safety, security, and well-being of children at all stages of the sponsorship process.
- Conduct regular safeguarding risk assessments related to sponsorship operations and implement mitigation strategies where necessary.
- Lead training initiatives on child safeguarding for both internal teams and local partners, ensuring that all staff are knowledgeable and compliant with safeguarding practices.
