About Us
We are a growing U.S.-based company with operations in both the United States and Mexico. Our business operates across BPO, distribution, and manufacturing-related activities, serving customers and supporting operations across both countries.
We are looking for an experienced financial leader to join our Tijuana team and play a key role in managing the financial operations of our U.S. business, while also providing financial oversight and support to our Mexico operations.
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to join our team in Tijuana and take primary ownership of the financial operations of our U.S.-based business.
This is a senior, hands-on finance leadership position. The Controller will work directly with U.S. executive leadership and oversee accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, financial analysis, internal controls, audits, and the accounting/finance team.
The position will also provide secondary financial oversight and support for our Mexico entity.
Fluent English and Spanish are required. Because the primary responsibility of this role is supporting our U.S. business, the ability to communicate confidently and professionally in English with U.S. leadership is essential.
Key Responsibilities
U.S. Business- Primary Focus
- Oversee the day-to-day accounting and finance functions for the U.S. business.
- Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
- Prepare and review financial statements and management reports.
- Lead annual budgeting and ongoing forecasting.
- Manage and monitor cash flow and working capital.
- Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable.
- Manage inventory and cost accounting activities.
- Analyze financial results, margins, costs, and variances.
- Develop financial KPIs and provide meaningful analysis to executive leadership.
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures.
- Coordinate audits, tax matters, and external accounting/financial advisors.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, controls, and reporting.
- Lead, supervise, and develop accounting and finance personnel.
- Provide financial guidance and recommendations to U.S. executive leadership.
- Support strategic business decisions through financial modeling and analysis.
Mexico Business- Secondary Focus
- Provide financial oversight and support to the Mexico entity.
- Coordinate with local accounting and tax professionals.
- Review Mexico financial reporting and accounting activity.
- Support Mexico budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and financial analysis.
- Assist with inventory and cost accounting.
- Help maintain appropriate financial controls and processes.
- Support financial coordination between the U.S. and Mexico entities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
- 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
- 5+ years in a Controller, Assistant Controller, Finance Director, CFO, or comparable senior finance role.
- Fluent English and Spanish required.
- Strong experience with financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Experience managing or supervising accounting/finance personnel.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and internal controls.
- Experience with cash flow, AR/AP, inventory, and cost accounting.
- Experience coordinating audits and working with external accounting or tax professionals.
- Strong Excel and financial modeling skills.
- Experience with an ERP or accounting system.
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication,
and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of the finance function.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working directly for a U.S.-based company.
- Knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
- Experience supporting U.S. and Mexico entities.
- Experience in a cross-border or multinational environment.
- Experience in BPO, call centers, distribution, manufacturing, or similar industries.
- Experience with manufacturing cost accounting or inventory management.
- Experience with multi-entity financial reporting or consolidation.
- CPA, CMA, MBA, or other relevant professional certification.
What Success Looks Like
The idóneo candidate is more than someone who can produce financial statements. We are looking for a financial leader who can understand the business behind the numbers and provide actionable insight to management.
You should be comfortable answering questions such as:
- What is driving our profitability?
- Where are costs increasing?
- How is cash flow trending?
- Are we on track with our budget and forecast?
- Where are our financial risks?
- What controls or processes need improvement?
- What does the financial data tell us about the business?
You will have the opportunity to work directly with U.S. executive leadership and play an important role in financial decision-making across the organization.
Work Environment
This position is primarily in-office in Tijuana, Baja California, with regular communication and collaboration with our U.S.-based leadership team.
Compensation
$75,000–$85,000 MXN gross per month, depending on experience and qualifications.
