**Responsibilities**:
The Analyst I, Financial Planning will play a key role in supporting financial accounting and planning processes to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting.
This position will contribute to both operational accounting activities and financial planning functions, assisting with month-end close, financial statement preparation, and variance analysis.
The Analyst I will also provide support for audits and help develop improved accounting procedures to enhance efficiency and compliance.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Support the month-end close process.
- Contribute to the preparation, analysis, and reporting of monthly profit & loss statements.




- Prepare recurring journal entries and ensure accuracy of financial data.
- Ensure accurate reporting of financial transactions across fixed assets, accruals, and other key accounts.
- Support the compilation of materials for external audits, including statutory audits.
- Assist in the development and implementation of new or revised accounting procedures.
- Compile and analyze monthly variances for finance, supporting budgeting and forecasting efforts.
- Review account trends, identify discrepancies, and recommend adjustments as needed.
- Prepare and deliver ad hoc management reporting as required.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications
Requires a Bachelor's degree with no previous professional experience.
Where required, the role must hold an appropriate degree in the industry (eg. Legal)
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Experience with a major ERP system preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases.
- Thorough understanding of GAAP and cost accounting principles.
- Ability to reconcile complex or difficult accounts is a plus.
- Highly observant, detail-oriented, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.
**Skills and Competencies**
- JD Edwards experience preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
