Role Description The Medical Laboratory Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Mexico City, Mexico. This role oversees day-to-day laboratory operations, including workflow planning, resource allocation, and coordination of testing activities to ensure accurate and timely results. The person in this position supervises laboratory staff, provides ongoing training, and promotes adherence to quality standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
The Medical Laboratory
Manager collaborates with clinical and technical teams to integrate AI-driven tools into diagnostic processes, support continuous process improvement, and maintain high levels of service for patients and partner institutions. Additional responsibilities include managing inventory,
participating in vendor and stakeholder meetings, monitoring performance metrics, and supporting the implementation of new assays and technologies.
Qualifications
- Clinical and medical knowledge, including Medicine and experience working in or managing a medical laboratory environment.
- Strong Team Leadership skills, with proven ability to supervise, mentor, and develop multidisciplinary laboratory staff.
- Customer Service orientation to support clinicians, patients, and partner institutions with responsive and professional communication.
- Experience with Training, including onboarding new team members and delivering ongoing education on protocols, technologies, and quality standards.
- Sales or stakeholder engagement experience to collaborate with partners, vendors, and institutional clients on laboratory services and solutions.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Medical Laboratory Science, Medicine, Biotechnology, or a related field; professional certification or licensure is an advantage.
- Knowledge of laboratory quality management systems, regulatory compliance, and safety practices.
- Comfort working with digital health tools, data systems, and emerging AI technologies in healthcare settings.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-throughput environment.
- Proficiency in Spanish; working knowledge of English is highly beneficial.
