Job DescriptionThe primary role of the Substitute School Nurse is to utilize nursing skills and professional judgment to ensure that all students receive appropriate health care services when the regular school nurse(s) are unavailable.As a Substitute, the nurse will fulfill the daily duties of an on‐site nurse.Essential Duties/ResponsibilitiesProvide acute, chronic, episodic, and emergency health careFacilitate healthy development and positive student responses to interventionsProvide quality health care and intervene with presente and potential student health problemsUse clinical judgment in providing case management servicesDaily DutiesAssess and evaluate the health and developmental status of studentsCommunicate with students, families, and health care providersInterpret assessments and medical information to school staff working with studentsProvide case management services for studentsAdminister and monitor medicationsPromote a healthy school environment for the emotional and physical safety of students and staffProvide direct services to students through screening programs such as vision and hearing assessments, as mandated by the stateProvide direct services to students for the care of illnesses and injuriesNotify families of communicable disease outbreaks, monitor outbreaks,
