Forvis Mazars is looking for a Tax Supervising Senior to join our Tax Compliance team in Mexico City.This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced tax professional ready to take greater ownership of client engagements, coordinate teams, strengthen client relationships, and deepen their expertise in Mexican corporate taxation and international transactions.In this role, you will supervise the tax compliance activities of an assigned client portfolio, review corporate income tax and VAT calculations, identify potential tax risks, and provide technical guidance to both clients and team members.Key ResponsibilitiesCoordinate and supervise the activities of the team assigned to each engagement, ensuring quality and timely delivery.Manage and monitor the tax compliance requirements of an assigned client portfolio.Review monthly provisional corporate income tax payments and final VAT returns.Review annual corporate income tax calculations and returns for Mexican legal entities.Review book-to-tax reconciliations and supporting tax workpapers.Analyse the tax treatment of different business operations and transactions.Review authorised deductions and validate compliance with applicable tax requirements.Review withholding taxes and other tax implications arising from transactions with foreign residents.Apply international tax treaties for the avoidance of double taxation.Assist clients in responding to administrative proceedings, invitation letters, tax authority requests, and in-depth compliance reviews conducted by the Mexican Tax Administration Service (SAT).
Review the tax sections of external audit working papers and identify potential tax exposures.Identify and communicate tax risks, improvement opportunities, and practical recommendations.Prepare technical analyses and presentations on relevant tax matters.Support administrative coordination, engagement planning,
and team management activities.Coach and support the professional development of junior team members.Preferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in Public Accounting.At least four years of relevant experience in tax compliance, corporate taxation, accounting, or tax review.Intermediate English proficiency.Solid knowledge of the Mexican tax framework applicable to legal entities, including the Federal Tax Code, Income Tax Law, VAT Law, and related regulations.Strong experience in corporate income tax calculations, provisional payments, annual tax returns, VAT, and book-to-tax reconciliations.Knowledge of withholding taxes and transactions involving foreign residents.Understanding of international tax treaties for the avoidance of double taxation.Experience using SAT platforms and managing electronic tax compliance requirements.Foundational knowledge of accounting and external audit processes.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.Based in Mexico City.We Are Looking for a Professional Who DemonstratesStrong organisational and project-management skills.Leadership and people-management capabilities.Clear, confident, and effective communication.A results-oriented mindset.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Collaborative teamwork.Client-service orientation.Attention to detail and commitment to technical quality.The ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.What Can We Offer?
