We are seeking a highly skilled Regional Mold Repair & Tooling Specialist to support plastic injection molding operations across multiple manufacturing facilities.
This role is responsible for mold troubleshooting, repair coordination, preventive maintenance, tooling improvements, and technical support to ensure optimal mold performance, product quality, and production efficiency.This Position is Based in SLP, Mexico and will travel 50% of the time to US/Brazil.English Proficency RequiredThe idóneo candidate will possess strong hands-on experience with injection mold tooling, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives while collaborating with manufacturing, engineering, quality, and maintenance teams throughout the regionKey ResponsibilitiesProvide regional technical support for plastic injection molds and tooling systems.Diagnose mold-related production issues and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.Coordinate mold repair activities with internal teams and external tool shops.Develop and maintain preventive and predictive maintenance programs for molds and tooling.Evaluate tooling performance and recommend improvements to increase reliability, quality, and productivity.Lead root cause investigations related to tooling failures, flash, short shots, dimensional concerns, and cosmetic defects.Manage mold refurbishment, engineering changes, and tooling optimization projects.Support new mold launches, validation activities,



and production transfers between facilities.Review mold designs and recommend modifications to improve manufacturability and maintainability.Maintain tooling records, repair histories, spare parts inventories, and technical documentation.Collaborate with suppliers, toolmakers, and manufacturing teams to ensure timely resolution of tooling issues.Promote best practices and standardization across regional manufacturing locations.QualificationsRequiredAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Tool & Die, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.5+ years of experience in plastic injection molding and mold tooling.Strong knowledge of mold construction, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting.Experience with hot runner systems, cooling circuits, slides, lifters, and mold components.Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, mold designs, and GD&T; requirements.Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.Willingness to travel regionally as required.PreferredExperience supporting multiple manufacturing sites.Knowledge of mold flow analysis and tooling validation processes.Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement methodologies.Experience managing tooling vendors and external repair suppliers.What We OfferCompetitive salary and performance incentivesComprehensive benefits packageCareer growth opportunities within a regional manufacturing organizationExposure to advanced molding technologies and tooling systemsCollaborative and innovative work environment
