knowledge and skills

- minimum of1 year of experience
- luxury hospitality experience (preferred).
- college education or equivalent experience.
- excellent written and verbal communication skills to prepare and deliver reports, effective presentations and tofacilitate meetings
- apply an ethical approach to influence the outcome of situations
- require a working technical knowledge ofgenerally acceptedaccounting principles and all corporate policies and procedures.




- require knowledge of and the ability tooperate computer equipment and excellent excel and computer skills.sun,iscalaand opera systems knowledge would be adecuado andgreatly valued.

- understand andpossessa working knowledge of the accounting & finance manual
- good understanding of month-end process, including but not limited topreparation of financial statements, accruals and journal entries,maintainreconciliations for all balance sheet accounts inestablishedcorporate formats andin accordance withgenerally acceptedaccountingprinciples.
- assist the assistant director of finance in preparation of all budgets and forecasts.
- understand the current edition of usali.
- prepare and coordinate the monthly reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts and all bank reconciliations, ensuring all outstanding reconciling items are investigated and resolved satisfactorily.
- perform all daily, monthly, and other periodic accounting and financial reporting inan accurateandtimelynature.
- participate in the physical inventory counts and thesubsequentaccuracy of count, price, and valuation.
- safeguard theresidentialcash assets through monthly bank reconciliations, cash counts of all issued banks, including general cashier, and reporting any discrepancies to the assistant dof.
- assistwith month end adjustment journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
- prepare periodic vacation and medical deduction auditsfor residential components.
- prepare required backup or work papersin order toprovide analysis and control overresidentialbalance sheet and p&l; accounts and to serve the purpose of internal and external audits.
- have a working knowledge of all areas in finance to ensure that coverage can be provided for employees on vacation or leave.
- be familiar with the program ofrecordscontrol, security,retentionand disposalin accordance withhotel policy and procedures.
- perform anyadditionalduties asassigned by the director of finance or assistant director of finance.
- ensure thathoa fees areproperlyrecorded,andan accurateandtimelybusiness report is generated.
- have the ability to direct the efforts, quality and timeliness of all aspects of the payroll, general ledger, accounts payable and general cashiering.
- meet withresidential oversight committee to review and explain monthly expenses and annual budgeting review withbothcorporate &owners.;
