About the Role

Forte Group is seeking a skilled Senior Java Engineer with GWT experience to join our Escalation Team. This team specializes in investigating complex production issues, resolving critical customer-facing problems, and improving the reliability of enterprise systems that require deep technical expertise and rapid problem-solving.

In this role, you'll investigate complex production issues, implement system enhancements, and work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, long-term solutions. Our product and engineering team develops an enterprise-grade workload automation platform that provides organizations with a centralized solution for planning, scheduling, and orchestrating business-critical processes across applications, systems, and infrastructure.

The platform consists of multiple tightly integrated applications that automate complex IT workflows, optimize workload execution, provide centralized schedule management, and deliver operational analytics and real-time system insights. About the Team

Our engineering organization is distributed across Poland, Ukraine, Argentina, and the United States, with additional colleagues based in Germany, the Netherlands, and other European countries.

Two end-to-end Feature Teams responsible for developing and evolving core product functionality.

A dedicated Test Automation Team focused on ensuring product quality and reliability.

The Escalation Team, which you will join—a specialized engineering team that partners closely with Support, Feature Teams, and QA to investigate critical production issues, resolve complex technical challenges, and deliver sustainable fixes.

Team serves as a bridge between engineering and customer-facing teams,



ensuring urgent issues are addressed quickly without disrupting ongoing product development.

We use Jira for backlog management, Confluence for documentation, and collaborate daily through Slack and Zoom. Our teams follow a Scrum-based Agile process with two-week iterations, regular backlog refinement, and a strong culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing across distributed teams.

Technology Stack: Java, Spring, Hibernate, GWT, React, JavaScript/TypeScript, JDBC Template, SQL (Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL), Linux, Windows, *Nix, multithreading, networking, GitHub, Jira, Confluence, Slack, Zendesk, IntelliJ IDEA, VS Code, and modern AI-assisted development tools including Claude Code, Cursor, coding agents, reusable AI workflows, and prompt engineering. Responsibilities

Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve complex production and pre-production issues.

Perform root cause analysis and implement sustainable, long-term solutions.

Design, develop, and maintain Java applications, including components built with GWT.

Improve system reliability, scalability, and performance.

Collaborate closely with Support, QA, DevOps, Product, and Feature Teams.

Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following engineering best practices.

Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and knowledge sharing across teams.

Contribute to documentation and continuous improvement of engineering processes. Qualifications

Required

Strong knowledge of Java Core

Experience with Spring Framework and Hibernate

Experience developing client-server applications

Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases

Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and design patterns

Knowledge of common algorithms and data structures

Experience debugging complex applications and performing root cause analysis

Intermediate English or higher Nice to Have

Experience with Google Web Toolkit (GWT)

Experience with multithreading, networking, or operating system internals

Mathematical or Computer Science background
