Where is this opportunity located?
Position located in Ramos Arizpe, Coahuila, in our Industrial Safety department.
What will the work look like for me?
General Expectation
Promote our safety culture by proactively working closely with Mexico Factory Management.
Possess a relentless passion and drive for Environmental Health and Safety in all areas including manufacturing.
Mentor, lead and train employees in manufacturing and construction safety requirements.
Develop knowledge, understanding and stay current of applicable governmental safety requirements including Secretaría del Trabajo y Previsión Social (STPS), Federal Labor Law (LFT), Official Mexican Standards (NOMs) and other relevant Mexico safety regulations.




Support and evaluate subcontracted professionals performing activities for Daktronics.
Help support and maintain safety and environmental records including inspection results, permitting records and management improvements.
Maintain environmental compliance by ensuring appropriate permitting and recordkeeping is maintained (i.e., waste and water discharge).
Ensure all fire management systems are appropriate and maintained per code and manufacturer requirements.
Manage and maintain safety supplies including first aid and personal protective equipment for the facility.
Use the fundamentals of Behavioral Based Safety to maintain and enhance the safety culture in the Mexico Factory.
Perform other responsibilities as needed to support the efforts of the EHS team.
People Development
Continue developing our safety culture by fostering an environment which has employees, their supervisors, safety committee members, and managers seeing you as approachable, understandable, and a valuable safety resource.
Lead safety audits with Factory Management and the safety committee, focusing on developing attendees' knowledge of safety and health requirements and identifying hazards.
Mentor and support leadership and committee members to ensure safety is integrated into their daily processes.
Attend daily Tier meetings and support monthly Tier meetings by providing safety metrics and topics with factory leadership.
Foster the development and principles of Behavioral Based Safety within the Mexico factory.
Improving The Business
Provide support to the factory including construction management, new process introduction, environmental compliance, and industrial hygiene.
Maintain compliance with applicable safety and environmental regulations.
Manage and coordinate specific safety projects as assigned by factory leadership.




Work with factory leadership to ensure identified safety deficiencies are corrected.
Champion initiatives, such as Behavioral Based Safety, to reduce hazards and incidents.
Verify that accident/incident investigations are completed, and that root‐cause analysis has been performed.
Training and Education
Develop and conduct safety, health, and environmental training for Daktronics employees.
Topics include fundamentals of risk assessments, forklift safety, new hire orientation, electrical safety, material handling, and construction‐related safety.
Attend training seminars focused on ongoing professional development and overall compliance.
Ensure training compliance is maintained and managed.
When necessary, work with contractors to schedule third‐party EHS training.
Calificaciones
Título universitario (licenciatura) requerido.
Las carreras preferidas incluyen Ciencias Ambientales o Seguridad y Salud Ocupacional, aunque se considerarán carreras relacionadas.
Experiencia en programas de cumplimiento ambiental, manejo de residuos, permisos ambientales y regulaciones ambientales aplicables en México (STPS/NOMs y normas ambientales) es preferido.
Se requiere experiencia y habilidades en el uso de software de Microsoft Office.
Experiencia mínima de 5 años en puestos similares.
Fuertes habilidades de comunicación oral y escrita en español e inglés, así como habilidades de organización y automotivación.
Certificación de registro ante la STPS como agente capacitador externo y autorización para emitir constancias DC‐3 es deseable.
Capacidad y disposición para viajar por vía aérea y terrestre.
Se requiere licencia de conducir vigente y buen historial de manejo.
Requisitos físicos incluyen: levantar y cargar objetos de hasta 23 kilogramos; trabajar en alturas o desde escaleras; trabajar en ambientes con olores propios de manufactura (pintura, soldadura, etc.).
