Job Description:
- The Plant Manager provides leadership and direction to partners at a Schreiber Foods plant. Continuously improve cost, quality and service of the products produced through the development of teamwork at the plant level as well as the use of cross-functional teams with suppliers, other Schreiber Foods groups and customers. Establishes and maintains a plant culture conducive to teamwork and continuous improvement.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Assures fair and equitable HR and personnel programs are developed and maintained consistent with the company direction.- Leads the plant’s activities in improving performance in the areas of cost, quality and service.- Together with the plant team, develops and maintains a work environment which is both safe and sanitary.- Provides leadership in the production of finished product while improving various fixed costs and various Variable costs.- Represents Schreiber Foods in contact with regulatory agencies, local customers, and the community.- Defines and reviews (with Category leads) KPIs for all areas.- Understands shipping and transportation needs and works on new and improved solutions.- Recommends and assures the prudent use of capital dollars in the acquisition and maintenance of equipment/facilities.- Negotiates lease and supply agreements as applicable.- Provides coaching and career development assistance to staff members.- Actively seeks an understanding of market conditions.- Create and support the Process Excellence culture and team environment.- Together with the leadership team, ensures compliance with Food Safety and Food Quality Plans, in addition to customer requirements.



Interprets and communicates customer requirements to plant production and/or support groups.- Establishes and Audits PCPs, CCPs and Standard Operating Procedures to define and monitor processes, to ensure customer requirements are met.- Reviews incidents during which the procedures are not met and determines appropriate corrective action for partners failing to follow standard procedures.- Train, coach, evaluate and reinforce Schreiber qualities and principles with partners.- Identify potential Capital improvements going through the analysis justification and approval process. Manage or assist in the management of capital projects.- Active in supporting the local community, in line with Schreiber’s values and objectives to “_Do Good Though Food_”.
Key ingredients:
- Bachelor’s in Business, Food Science, Dairy Science, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or related field.- 7-10 years of experience in Food Manufacturing and similar roles within a mid to large sized manufacturing facility.- English and Portuguese fluency is required.- Ability to learn and adapt to local culture while living and teaching Schreiber values- Accountability and ownership attitude within your team- Strong leadership skills, effective communication and active listening- Extremely resilient- Process Excellence Tools to be understood.- Advanced knowledge of food regulations- Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving abilities- Desire to grow and take on new challenges and opportunities.- Budget planning skills.- Solution-oriented thinking and acting- Share best practices with other plants.- Handle stressful situations in a calm manner.- PC skills, i.e. Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability for presenting the factory in a professional manner- Ability to travel up to 15% (on annual basis)
