about the role

we are looking for a freight specialist to manage ocean and air freight operations on the us import/export trade lane, based in our guadalajara office.

responsibilities

- handle end-to-end ocean (fcl/lcl) and air freight operations for import and export shipments between mexico and the usa
- coordinate with carriers, airlines, trucking companies, and overseas agents on bookings, capacity, and transit times
- prepare and verify shipping documents: bill of lading, air waybill, commercial invoice, packing list
- liaise with customs brokers (agente aduanal) for import/export clearance in mexico
- track shipments and proactively update clients/hq; resolve exceptions (delays, damages, shortages)
- maintain accurate records in cargowise
- support billing reconciliation with carriers/airlines

requirements





- 2+ years of experience in freight forwarding/logistics operations; us trade lane experience preferred
- hands-on experience with cargowise (required) — must be able to process bookings, generate documents (b/l, awb), and manage shipment records in the system
- working knowledge of ocean & air freight processes and incoterms
- working proficiency in english (mandarin a plus, not required)
- proficient in excel
- strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to quickly identify and resolve shipment issues
- quick learner, comfortable picking up new systems and processes with minimal supervision
- detail-oriented, able to multitask and handle multiple shipments under pressure
- versátil availability — willing to adjust working hours to align with us time zones and accommodate urgent shipment issues outside standard hours
