About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive
Accounting Manager
to join MezTal, working with a U.S.-based client within the
Senior Housing / Real Estate industry
.
This role will lead general accounting operations, ensuring full compliance with
U.S. GAAP
, while driving accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment. The idóneo candidate will bring strong leadership capabilities, hands-on experience with
Yardi
, and a deep understanding of accounting practices within the required industry.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team.
Oversee general ledger activities, month-end and year-end close processes, and financial reporting in compliance with U.S. GAAP.
Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and applicable regulations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights that support strategic decision-making.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Manage external audit processes, ensuring timely and successful completion.
Utilize advanced Excel functions to analyze data, generate reports, and optimize workflows.
Work directly within
Yardi
for accounting operations, reporting, and system management.
Partner closely with senior leadership on strategic initiatives and special projects.
Mandatory Requirements (Non-Negotiable)
100% onsite availability in Guadalajara (no hybrid or remote option).




Bachelor's degree in Accounting (only Accounting degrees will be considered).
Proven experience in Senior Housing or Real Estate industry.
Hands-on experience with Yardi accounting software.
Qualifications
Minimum of 8 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Advanced knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop teams effectively.
Advanced Excel proficiency (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, complex formulas, data analysis).
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Advanced English communication skills (professional working proficiency required).
High level of initiative and ability to work independently.
