- 6-10 years of Android application development in Kotlin & Java (Stronger: Kotlin & Strong: Java interop)
- Solid programming fundamentals: Object-Oriented Design, multithreading, memory management.
- Production-level Android development with coroutines/Flow, DI, background execution & modern architecture (MVVM/MVI).
- Testing: unit (JUnit) & basic instrumentation tests; write testable code & uses test doubles.
- AOSP/AAOS familiarity (platform concepts, in-vehicle constraints, template-driven HMI).
- Git proficiency in a team setting; PR workflows & code-review etiquette.
- Comfortable with Agile Practices & Tools (e.g., SAFe, Confluence, Jira).
- Solid experience in Software Life-Cycle methodologies & releasing production apps.
- Working multiple applications simultaneously.
- Supporting junior developers & unblock team on technical issues or questions.
- Software development (to end-to-end) for multi-brand OEM apps, integrate backend APIs features for testing automation.
- App-development (Kotlin / Java) focused on production quality, performance & compliance with car UX & safety standards.
- Build AAOS apps using modern Android components, compliant with in-vehicle HMI & driving safety constraints (glanceability, rotary/D-pad/voice).
- Clean, testable architecture (MVVM/MVI, coroutines/Flow, DI with Hilt) & robust background work.
- Implement data/networking layers: consume backend APIs, caching (Room/SQLite), error handling, retries & offline behavior.
- Use Git daily: feature branches, rebasing/merging, tags/releases; create well-scoped PRs & perform code reviews with clear, actionable feedback.
- Maintain CI/CD & test automation pipelines with basic quality gates (unit & instrumentation tests).
- Work with Android for Cars App Library templates (media, navigation, etc.) & host validation.
- Responsible for technical ownership across multiple APKs, ensuring high-quality deliverables by maintaining rigorous standards for code coverage, linter compliance & bug-free releases. Nice to have - Familiarity with Jetpack Compose & Modern Android UI pattern.
- AIDL/Binder IPC, bound services & multi-process patterns.
- Experience with Google Automotive Services (GAS) & / or Android for Cars App Library (templates, rotary/voice).
- CI/CD setup (GitHub Actions/Gradle) & deeper test automation.
- Release engineering: Gradle configuration, build types/flavors, app signing, staged rollouts.
- Owning backend services or infrastructure, kernel/BSP work, or ML model training/research.
