To ensure that manufacturing operations comply with applicable environmental legislation and stakeholder requirements. This position will manage environmental programs, support EHS initiatives, optimize the use of natural resources, and contribute to reducing the organization’s environmental footprint.
Manage and support the Environmental Management System in accordance with ISO 14001:2015, including certification and recertification activities.
Ensure compliance with applicable environmental regulations and requirements from authorities such as SEMARNAT and PROFEPA.
Coordinate the handling, storage, labeling, documentation, and control of chemical substances, including oils, solvents, and refrigerants.
Manage hazardous and special-handling waste, including collection services, final disposal, manifests, and chain-of-custody documentation.
Monitor atmospheric emissions, wastewater discharges, and the performance of treatment systems.
Maintain and report local and integral EHS indicators, including energy and water consumption and CO₂ emissions.
Support environmental, governmental, customer, and management-system audits.
Develop, implement, and monitor EHS training programs for operational and administrative employees.
Promote environmental awareness related to chemical spills, waste segregation,
resource efficiency, and safe operating practices.
Conduct facility inspections to identify environmental, safety, and asset-protection risks and ensure the effective closure of findings.
Support investigations of environmental incidents, accidents, and conditions that could affect employees, facilities, or the environment.
Participate in EHS system improvements, sustainability programs, and continuous-improvement projects.
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Management Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
At least 3 years of experience in environmental management and industrial safety within a manufacturing environment.
Previous experience coordinating employees, contractors, or external service providers is a plus.
Intermediate English proficiency is desirable.
