As a Tax Analyst, you will support the International Tax Directors and the Head of Tax in managing integral tax compliance and reporting obligations. You will help prepare direct tax filings (e.g., corporate income tax and withholding tax) and indirect tax filings (e.g., VAT/GST, sales tax, and excise). You will also support audits and maintain accurate tax records. You will report to the Tax Manager, working four days on-site at our San Angel, CDMX location and one day from home.
Responsibilities
- VAT Reporting: filing indirect tax reports in compliance with governing laws, monitor data integrity and legal/tax compliance across filings, maintain VAT-related tables in SAP, and prepare documentation for tax authorities in inquiries or investigations.
- Financial Analysis: perform analytical review of relevant balance sheet accounts, investigate abnormal payments, and prepare monthly analyses for fiscal reporting; complete ad hoc reporting as required by the finance team.
- General: assist in preparing corporate income tax, withholding tax,
and indirect tax returns across multiple jurisdictions; reconcile tax accounts and ensure accurate financial reporting of tax positions; gather and prepare documentation for tax audits, reviews, and inquiries; monitor changes in tax laws and communicate updates to senior tax leaders; contribute to tax compliance tools, systems, and process improvements; coordinate with finance and business teams to ensure proper tax treatment of transactions and accurate data for filings.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
- 2–5 years of experience in taxation, accounting, or finance (internship or junior experience accepted)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is advantageous
- Knowledge of customs and import/export regulations
- SAP and SAP-GTS experience
