Area: Purchasing / Supply Chain
The Senior Buyer is responsible for developing mid- to long-term strategies for direct materials (steel & stamping) at regional and integral levels. This role manages supplier negotiations, ensures material availability, and supports new project launches and engineering changes, driving cost competitiveness and timely delivery.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, International Business, Business Administration , or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of purchasing experience within the automotive industry, including at least 5 years managing steel, stampings, metals, or other highly complex commodities .
- Proven track record leading Strategic Sourcing initiatives, complex negotiations, supplier development, and resourcing projects .
- Strong expertise in cost analysis, should-cost modeling, Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), quotation benchmarking, and cost reduction strategies .
- Demonstrated success managing high-value spend portfolios while delivering measurable savings, improving competitiveness, and mitigating supply risks.
- Solid knowledge and hands‑on experience with new product launch processes (APQP, PPAP, SOP) , ensuring supplier readiness and flawless execution.
- Experience in supplier risk management, supplier capacity assessment, business continuity planning, and mitigation strategy development .
- Proven ability to manage key purchasing metrics, including PPV, VAVE, cost reduction, contract compliance, and supplier performance .
- Strong background in commercial contract negotiation and administration .
- Advanced English proficiency (business professional level) with the ability to lead negotiations, supplier meetings, and collaborate effectively with global teams.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems , preferably Plex, SAP, or equivalent enterprise platforms .
- Highly analytical, results‑driven professional with the ability to independently manage a high‑complexity, business‑critical purchasing portfolio .
