Ichor Systems has an immediate opening for a Manufacturing Engineer , located at our Nogales, Sonora facility. Reporting to the Post Machining Production Manager, this position is full-time and will collaborate closely with local manufacturing leadership. Objective

The Process Engineer is responsible for ensuring stability, capability, and continuous improvement of post-machining manufacturing processes, electropolishing, cleaning, welding, packaging etc. This role drives operational excellence through process optimization, implementation of robust process controls, automation initiatives, and engineering solutions that enhance product quality, safety, productivity, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities Develop, document, implement, and maintain manufacturing processes for post-machining operations, including electropolishing, cleaning, packaging etc. Establish and optimize process parameters, work instructions, visual aids, and control plans. Validate new processes, equipment, tooling, fixtures, and materials in accordance with applicable quality standards. Monitor and analyze key manufacturing metrics, including yield, scrap, rework, OEE, productivity, and cycle times. Ensure compliance with customer specifications, regulatory requirements, and internal quality standards. Provide technical support to production teams to troubleshoot and resolve process-related issues. Lead continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing principles and methodologies such as Kaizen, 5 S, SMED, Value Stream Mapping, and Root Cause Analysis. Identify and implement opportunities to reduce waste, improve efficiency, decrease cycle times, and lower operational costs. Drive corrective and preventive actions resulting from audits, customer complaints, non-conformances, or process deviations. Conduct process capability studies, statistical analysis, and data-driven improvement projects to enhance process performance.



Develop and implement automation solutions to improve safety, consistency, quality, and productivity. Participate in automation projects, robotics, vision systems, sensors, actuators, and industrial control systems. Coordinate equipment installation, qualification, validation, and start-up activities. Reduce dependency on manual operations through engineering improvements and innovative technologies. Establish and control critical process parameters for electropolishing and surface finishing operations. Monitor process variables such as chemical concentration, temperature, current density, and exposure time. Ensure surface finish and cleanliness requirements meet customer and regulatory specifications. Collaborate with Quality and Operations teams to drive process improvements and defect reduction. Education Bachelor's Degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline. Experience Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Process Engineering within a manufacturing environment. Experience with electropolishing, passivation, surface finishing, or other chemical treatment processes prefer. Experience in Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement projects. Experience participating in industrial automation projects is preferred. Technical Knowledge Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies. Statistical Process Control (SPC) and process capability analysis. Process validation and risk assessment methodologies. Electropolishing and precision surface finishing processes. Automation systems, PLCs, sensors, vision systems, and industrial controls. Data analysis and problem-solving techniques. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Project management and prioritization abilities. Results-oriented mindset with strong attention to detail.
