**Position Overview**
It is an exciting time to join FastGrid. We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Manager of Information Technology to join our growing team. This role comes with tremendous opportunity for individual growth for the right person. It will initially require diving into the technical details and managing both on-prem and cloud-based (AWS) infrastructure. Over time, this role will evolve into helping with the development of a national (and potentially general) IT team, aiding in strategic initiatives, and ensuring operational excellence. You will be reporting to the Manager of IT in the US.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Infrastructure Management: Oversee and maintain on-premises infrastructure, ensuring high availability, reliability, and scalability of all IT systems.
- Cloud Provisioning:
Administer cloud-based environments (AWS, M365), including provisioning, optimization, and security.
- Cybersecurity: Advise and help strengthen our cybersecurity posture over time. This includes threat detection, response protocols, DR, and compliance with industry standards.
- Asset Inventory: Assist in developing and maintaining a comprehensive inventory of IT assets, including hardware, software, and licensing, ensuring proper documentation and management.
- Tools: Serve as system administrator for key tools used across the enterprise, whether hosted/installed (e.g. AutoCAD) or SaaS based (e.g. O365: Outlook, Teams, etc.). Help foster a modern, “cloud-first” SaaS mindset as new tools are evaluated.
- Strategy: Help develop long-term strategies for IT infrastructure, balancing short-term hands-on responsibilities with long-term needs.
- Team Leadership: As the IT function grows, recruit, mentor, coach, and manage a team to support the evolving needs of the organization.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with internal stakeholders, across multiple departments (and geographies) to ensure IT systems support company goals and business objectives.
- Vendor Management: Over time, work to reduce the need for outsourced IT services, as we build key capabilities in house. However, where strategic and necessary,
build partnerships with key IT vendors to augment and accelerate our technical capabilities.
**Qualifications and Skills**
- Proven experience in IT infrastructure management, both on-prem and in cloud environments (preferably AWS and M365).
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and tools.
- Experience with IT asset management.
- Experience with network and system administration.
- Experience negotiating vendor contracts in Mexico.
- Experience adapting company standards to align with regional resources.
- Ability to work hands-on with technical details while also aligning to the strategic vision for international IT operations.
- Experience, interest, and/or strong potential to build, manage, a lead a team.
- Excellent communication skills (both Spanish and English), high emotional intelligence, and an innate ability to collaborate with a variety of stakeholders (technical and non-technical alike). This includes working with product and software engineering teams.
- Ability to handle International Vendors according to Mexican standards and laws.
- Agile mindset (customer first), not afraid to iterate and “fail-fast” with a kaizen approach.
- Curious, lifelong learner who is also an “AI Forward” thinker. Not afraid to embrace new (and potentially disruptive technologies) to help drive gains in speed, quality, and/or efficiency.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited university.
- Relevant certifications are nice to have (e.g. AWS, MS, CISSP, CompTIA, Security+, etc.).
- Bi-Lingual Fluency in Spanish and English is required
