Primary Purpose of Position:Support daily and month‑end close project accounting activities to capitalize projects timely. Provides accounting support and follows up for project capitalization items including but not limited to asset management, project accounting, and fixed assets accounting. Tracks the advance of open projects and provides indicators of completion. Works with the Business Divisions, the service provider, and the Manager to partner up and solve problems in a timely fashion.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:




- Daily and month‑end tasks include coordinating efficiently the end‑to‑end process of Authorizations for Expenditure (AFE) and Authorizations for Lease (AFL). Monitor status of each project until completion, monitoring the job cost system, reconciliations and various reporting needs. Request assets into service in the ERP and request disposals and transfers if needed.
- Prepare journal entries from source documentation for any necessary accruals. Perform and review calculations prepared by others, summarize source data, evaluate reliability of source data and verify account coding.
- Provide accurate reporting to the Finance, Capital and Engineering teams before month‑end close and proactively speak up if actions are needed to mitigate under/over statement in CIP, including CIP AP accruals, partial or complete capitalization of assets in the correct accounting quarter, ensuring costs in the project are accurate and reviewing budget to actual.
