Purpose of the role Set the technical direction — and build the architecture that gets us there. Reporting to the Software Development Director, this role provides technical and architectural leadership for the software platforms developed and managed in Mexico, ensuring scalable and secure solutions aligned with the global group's technology standards. The role defines the technical direction of the local development team and owns the architecture of the Mexican platforms — both maintaining the architecture of current solutions and designing and building their future (target) architecture, shaping technological direction rather than merely sustaining what exists today. It also contributes to Mexico's technology roadmap, serves as the senior technical reference point for the Mexican platforms, and collaborates closely with the local and global Product Owner to translate business requirements into solid technical projects. Key responsibilities 1 Technical leadership & architectural governance Guide the integration of local architecture into the integral group's architectural model, ensuring technological continuity and strategic alignment. Design the target architecture of the Mexican platforms and define the evolution path toward it, balancing innovation and service continuity. 2 Platform architecture & integral alignment Support roadmap and prioritization discussions with technical analysis, effort estimation, and risk assessment. Be the senior technical escalation point for architecture and integration issues affecting the Mexican platforms. 3 Systems & infrastructure oversight Define and oversee the architecture of core systems in Mexico and in the countries served from Mexico. Ensure system architecture supports scalability, security, and integration with global infrastructure. 4 Data, security & compliance Implement data governance and security practices aligned with the group's global privacy and security frameworks. Design and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity measures, aligned with the group's cybersecurity standards. 5 Collaboration & stakeholder management Be the senior technical contact point for the Mexican platforms with internal and global teams. Communicate architectural decisions, technical trade-offs, and progress to technical and non-technical stakeholders. 6 Leadership & people management Guide and mentor the local software development team — fostering technical growth, code quality, accountability, and cross-functional collaboration. Build collaboration between product, development, and operations teams. Expected results A well-defined and documented solution architecture for the Mexican platforms, aligned with Mexico's technology roadmap. Technical alignment and successful delivery of the Mexican platforms, including scalability. Requirements University degree. Fluent Spanish (local working language) and fluent English, spoken and written — essential. At least 8 years of overall experience in software development,
with 4+ years in software architecture and/or technical leadership. Proven experience leading and mentoring software development teams, with responsibility for members' professional growth and work quality. Hands-on experience as an Architect / Senior Developer, with solid mastery of modern cloud-native technologies. Excellent communication skills — able to explain architectural decisions and trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Willingness to adopt adaptable working hours when necessary to collaborate with international teams across time zones. Availability for occasional short-term international travel for architecture reviews and technical alignment, including to the group's European offices. Technical skills & experience The platforms are built across two primary technology stacks. Deep expertise in one and working fluency in the other is expected. 1 Type Script / Node.js / AWS Lambda Languages & Runtime Type Script — 5.x, strict mode, Common JS / ESM modules Node.js — v22.x Cloud & Infrastructure AWS — EC2, RDS, S3, VPC, IAM, Secrets Manager, Cognito, Cloud Watch, X-Ray AWS Lambda + AWS SAM — template authoring, build / deploy / sync, multi-stack AWS Cloud Formation — resource definitions, nested stacks, IAM roles & policies API Gateway (private VPC endpoints), Event Bridge, Code Pipeline, Code Build Architecture & Design Domain-Driven Design — bounded contexts, aggregates, domain events Clean / Hexagonal Architecture — domain / application / infrastructure layering Serverless microservices — multi-service decomposition Event-driven design via Event Bridge Database Postgre SQL, Mongo DB, My SQL, Redis, Dynamo DB Security IAM least-privilege design for Lambda execution roles Secrets Manager usage patterns Cognito — authentication & authorisation Testing & Quality Jest + ts-jest — unit testing, mocking with jest-mock-extended Playwright — E2 E / integration testing with Chromium ESLint (flat config, typescript-eslint) + Prettier Sonar Qube — static analysis, coverage gating Build & Tooling Docker — containerization & SAM build environment pnpm — workspaces, lockfile management esbuild — Lambda bundling with minification + source maps Liquibase — schema versioning via XML changelogs CI / CD Git Hub Actions — workflow authoring, PR gates, workflow_dispatch AWS Code Artifact — private npm registry for internal packages SAM deploy pipelines — build + deploy automation Frontend React,
