Your Tasks
Acting as an interface between internal and external customers, and all respective Planning Logistics staff at plant. Responsible to ensure customer requirements are well understood and followed, and to communicate, and negotiate with customers regarding operational objectives and/or constraints. Ensure one face to the customer, from when customer demand is received at the plant until the final product is delivered to customer facilities. Improve delivery service level continuously while optimizing logistics costs. Train other Sales Planners in performing their daily, weekly and monthly tasks, and support them within escalations, system settings and communication to customers. Guarantee correct master data and system settings and trigger constant process improvements. Ensure corporate guidelines as well as national and international law regarding processing internal and external customer orders and initiating their deliveries.
Duties And Responsibilities
Note: The following responsibilities summarize the work in two main areas: Sales Scheduling and Project Management / Key User. All items describe responsibilities related to planning, coordination and execution within logistics and supply chain processes.
1. Sales Scheduling
- Processing complex external and internal customer orders through the whole process chain,
including monitoring Kanban control loops to the customer or controlling consignment movements.
- Setting daily, weekly and monthly production planning priorities in cooperation with internal stakeholders; manage customer call-off fluctuations and demand changes affecting production.
- Maintaining customer satisfaction by communicating delivery dates, current supply status, constraints, complaints, damages, or changes in drawing status.
- Clarifying root causes for delivery delays and communicating updated delivery schedules to customers; participate in customer visits for operational clarifications.
- Identifying root causes for inventory level differences with responsible persons.
- Improving planning quality by analyzing slow sellers and bottleneck devices and sharing optimization measures with the local planning team.
- Determining, entering and managing IT-based master data for the area of responsibility.
- Active monitoring of customer portals for new logistics requirements, performance evaluations and claims, and triggering necessary actions.
- Contributing to achieve planned finished goods stock levels for complex projects, ramp-ups, phase-outs, relocations and ECNs; supporting long-term demand planning and capacity planning by informing relevant internal planning positions about customer requirement changes.
- Assisting in determining minimum or maximum order quantities and forming cost-effective batch sizes for components and finished goods.
- Continuously improving delivery service level and reducing logistics costs.
- Training other Sales Planners and ensuring correct master data and system settings; driving continuous process improvements.
- Ensuring compliance with corporate guidelines and applicable laws for processing orders and initiating deliveries.
- Maintaining single point of contact with the customer from demand receipt to final delivery.
- Training new Sales Planners on daily, weekly and monthly tasks; regular knowledge refresh and first-level support.
- Maintaining plant and shipping point master data and monitoring system settings and delivery service levels for continuous improvements.
- Coordinating system and process changes with Regional Logistics and initiating change requests as needed.
- Supporting ESP-Process implementation with Regional Logistics.
- Supporting Sales Planners on tax and export topics.
- Project Management / Key User
- Manage and lead high-complexity logistics projects from technical and organizational perspectives.
- Define, plan, coordinate, and monitor tasks within project teams using defined methods and systems.
- Develop concepts to improve recording, analysis, modeling, presentation and management of process-related data.
- Monitor project success in terms of time, budget and quality; drive execution of defined actions.
- Coach and train project teams and trigger additional trainings as needed.
- Negotiate logistics conditions with suppliers, service providers and customers (e.g., JIT/JIS), including turnaround times and packaging with responsible departments.
Your Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in similar roles.
- English advanced.
- ERP experience (SAP is a plus).
