Plant Manager

Job Summary

As Plant Manager, you will join our Operations and Maintenance team! In this role, you will report to Chief Operations Officer LATAM and will have the opportunity to act as the single‑point accountable leader of the Cogeneration Plant, with full responsibility for safety, operations, maintenance, commercial performance, regulatory compliance, people leadership, and budget control.

The role’s primary objective is to maximize the long‑term profitability, availability, and reliability of the plant by ensuring safe, efficient, and environmentally compliant delivery of electricity and steam in accordance with contractual commitments, while fostering a strong safety culture, operational excellence, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities:

- Ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the cogeneration plant across all shifts.
- Lead planning and execution of preventive, corrective, and major maintenance activities in line with OEM and LTSA requirements.
- Optimize plant loading and operational regimes to maximize availability, efficiency, and variable margin while meeting off‑taker requirements.
- Monitor performance of gas turbines, steam turbines, HRSGs, balance‑of‑plant, and auxiliary systems, ensuring operation within design and contractual limits.
- Ensure compliance with all operating licenses, environmental permits, and applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
- Act as Chief of Emergency, as defined in the Emergency Response Plan (PEI).

Health, Safety, Environment & Culture

- Build and sustain a strong safety culture with proactive risk identification, incident prevention, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure full compliance with ContourGlobal HSE standards and applicable Mexican regulations.
- Promote high standards of housekeeping, operational discipline, and asset care.
- Ensure effective incident investigation, root cause analysis,



and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.

Integrated Management System (IMS / SIG)

- Act as the site owner of the Integrated Management System (Quality, Environment, Health & Safety), ensuring its effective implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with applicable ISO‑based management systems (e.g. ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001) and ContourGlobal corporate requirements.
- Ensure timely preparation for and closure of internal, external, and regulatory audits, including corrective and preventive action plans.
- Integrate a risk‑based, process‑oriented management approach into daily operations, decision‑making, and performance monitoring.

Commercial Performance and Stakeholder Management

- Own the commercial performance of the plant, ensuring compliance with power and steam supply agreements.
- Manage the operational interface with the off‑taker, ensuring continuity of supply, contractual compliance, and performance improvement.
- Oversee coordination related to gas supply, electricity import/export, and commercial invoicing processes.
- Proactively manage operational and commercial risks related to penalties, performance guarantees, and contractual deviations.
- Maintain effective relationships with local authorities, regulators, and community stakeholders.

Financial and Budget Control

- Elaborate and manage the annual operating budget, optimizing fixed and variable operating costs.
- Ensure cost‑effective execution of maintenance, capital projects, and contracted services.
- Verify and approve invoices related to plant operations, utilities, gas supply, and commercial settlements.

Leadership, People & Organization

- Lead, mentor, and develop the plant leadership team, operators, and technicians.
- Ensure effective performance management, training, and development plans are in place.
- Maintain high levels of employee engagement, discipline, and morale in alignment with ContourGlobal values.
- Develop succession plans for key plant roles to ensure long‑term operational resilience.

Continuous Improvement and Knowledge Sharing

- Promote and lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, reliability, efficiency, and cost optimization.
- Sponsor and participate in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and reliability improvement initiatives.
- Encourage knowledge sharing and best‑practice transfer with other cogeneration and thermal assets within the group.
- Work closely with corporate O&M;, Finance, Legal,



and Commercial teams to improve processes and operational performance.

Qualifications and Skills:

- Education: Bachelor´s degree in Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering; MBA desirable.
- Experience: At least 10 years of experience in the energy sector , including O&M; of power or cogeneration plants. Minimum 5 years of managerial experience leading an industrial or power generation facility.
- Proven experience working within ISO‑based Integrated Management Systems (Quality, Environment, H&S;).
- Advanced English level.
- Travel requirements upon business needs.
