JobSummary
The Central Planning Supervisor leads a team of Central Planners and serves as theday-to-dayescalation point for serialized production parts with lineimpacting shortages. This role partners with sourcing to drive supplier corrective actions,optimizingpart delivery, andachievinginventory and operational targets. The supervisor organizesand makesdocuments calls with plant and parts teams to ensure clear communication,promptissue resolution, and alignment across operations. They also maintain accurate, uptodate documentation of shortages and recovery actions through Control Tower shortage trackers.
This role leads a team of planners, drives schedule adherence, improves planning processes, and partners crossfunctionally with suppliers, operations, procurement, and logistics.
Responsibilities
Assists in resolving part shortages effectivelyandwith minimum cost.Serve as escalation point-of-contact for specified productionlocationswhen material shortages are imminent. Escalate to other cross functional leaders as required.
Actively manage vendor relationships and on-time delivery performance
Identifies opportunities increase freight utilization,reduceunnecessary material handling, and optimize flexibilityfor assigned plants.
Provide leadership and direction to Central Planners.Teach,
train,and integrate new central planners.Develop and improve central planning tools and standardwork.
Reviewsplanner scorecard to audit ifchecklist activitiesare being completedin adherencetoStandard Work. Ensure effective use of ERP/MRP and planningtools.
Works well cross functionally withallparts ofthe organization. Fosters anddeveloprelationships withkeysources, materials and logistics contacts.
Experience & Skills
3+years’ experience in purchasing, planning or materials
Strong interpersonal skills & the ability to work effectively with a wide variety ofpeople.
Ability to synthesize large amounts of data quickly and stay calm underpressure.
