Our client is seeking a visionary and results-oriented Director of Agricultural Innovation to lead their remote innovation initiatives. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to drive cutting-edge agricultural advancements from anywhere. You will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and implementing new technologies and methodologies that enhance crop yield, sustainability, and efficiency across our diverse agricultural operations. This role requires a deep understanding of modern agriculture, emerging technologies (AI, IoT, Big Data, automation), and a proven ability to manage projects and teams in a virtual environment. You will collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and research institutions to foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation, shaping the future of agriculture. - Develop and execute a comprehensive innovation strategy for the agricultural division, focusing on technology adoption and process improvement.
- Identify, research, and evaluate emerging technologies relevant to agriculture, such as AI, machine learning, IoT, robotics, and biotechnology.
- Lead the implementation of pilot projects and scalable solutions across farming operations.
- Manage a portfolio of innovation projects, ensuring they align with strategic goals and are delivered on time and within budget.
- Foster collaboration and knowledge sharing among cross-functional teams, including R&D;, operations, and IT, in a remote setting.




- Build and maintain relationships with technology providers, startups, universities, and research centers.
- Analyze data and performance metrics to assess the impact of implemented innovations and identify further opportunities.
- Develop business cases and proposals for new innovation initiatives.
- Stay abreast of global trends and best practices in agricultural technology and innovation management.
- Lead and mentor a team of innovation specialists and project managers working remotely.

Requirements

- Master's degree or Ph.D. in Agronomy, Agricultural Science, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in agricultural innovation, R&D;, or technology development.
- Proven experience in identifying and implementing new technologies in an agricultural context.
- Strong understanding of digital agriculture, precision farming, data analytics, and automation.
- Demonstrated success in managing complex projects, preferably in a remote or distributed team environment.
- Excellent strategic thinking, leadership, and communication skills.
- Ability to effectively influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in project management tools and virtual collaboration platforms.
- A passion for driving innovation and transforming the agricultural industry.
- Experience working with international teams or markets is a plus.
