Platzi is the largest technology school in the Hispanic world with over 7 million students and 4,000 companies trusting us to deliver effective online education. Our mission is to make Latin America a technology superpower. We do it by training companies and individuals in areas such as AI, Cybersecurity, English, Programming and Leadership.
We operate mostly remote, with key offices in Bogotá, Medellín and Mexico City.
As a Senior Software Engineer at Platzi you build and own the systems behind the product millions of students use in Latin America: the data model, the services, how they behave under load, and how they recover when they break. You work very close to the Growth Marketing team, and you report to the Engineering Manager. You take an ambiguous problem and come back with a decision you can defend, including the decision not to build, and you care about what your code costs to run and to maintain a year from now,

not only about getting it merged.
Design and build services, data models and interfaces that hold up as the product and the traffic grow.
Own what you build in production: performance, reliability, cost, and how it recovers when it breaks.
At least 5 years shipping and operating software in production, with real depth in system design.
Strong fundamentals: data modeling, APIs, performance, concurrency and failure modes.
Fluent English and Spanish.
Online Therapy
We care about your emotional health by covering the first four online therapy sessions with specialized companies.
Every year, the entire team gathers somewhere in the world for a week to meet face-to-face, get to know each other, have interesting discussions, and plan ambitious projects.
