About the Role

Our client, a visionary urban development consultancy, is seeking a highly skilled and forward-thinking Ingeniero Civil de Planificación de Proyectos Urbanos for a fully remote position. This role is pivotal in shaping sustainable and livable urban environments across Mexico. You will lead the planning, conceptualization, and initial design phases of complex urban development projects, including master planning, infrastructure integration, and land use strategies. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of urban systems, sustainable design principles, and public policy related to urban development. Collaboration with municipalities, developers, community stakeholders, and a multidisciplinary team of planners, architects, and engineers, predominantly through digital channels, is essential. Key Responsibilities

- Develop master plans and strategic visions for urban development projects.
- Conduct feasibility studies and site analyses for new urban initiatives.
- Design integrated infrastructure systems, including transportation, utilities, and green spaces.
- Assess land use patterns and zoning regulations to optimize development potential.
- Collaborate remotely with government agencies, developers, and community groups.
- Ensure projects align with sustainable development goals and environmental best practices.
- Prepare comprehensive planning reports, presentations, and policy recommendations.
- Coordinate with civil, structural, and environmental engineers for preliminary design integration.
- Facilitate stakeholder engagement through virtual platforms and workshops.




- Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in urban planning and civil engineering.

Requirements

- Master's degree in Urban Planning, Civil Engineering with an Urban Development focus, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in urban planning, land development, or civil infrastructure planning.
- Proven experience in developing master plans and strategic frameworks for urban projects.
- Strong understanding of urban design principles, zoning laws, and land use regulations in Mexico.
- Proficiency in GIS software and urban planning modeling tools.
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience in virtual collaboration.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet tight deadlines.
- Experience in coordinating with diverse stakeholder groups.
- Demonstrated commitment to sustainable development and smart city concepts.
- Familiarity with the urban challenges and opportunities in regions like Cuernavaca, Morelos , is a plus.
