Location:
Saltillo, Coahuila We are seeking an analytical and technically driven Warranty Engineer with 3 to 5 years of automotive experience to oversee field issue resolution and warranty performance for Chassis systems (suspension, steering, braking, and structural chassis components). In this role, you will monitor dealer warranty claims, perform physical tear-downs and failure analysis on returned parts, lead cross-functional root-cause investigations, and ensure robust corrective actions (8D) are implemented to reduce warranty claim rates and cost of poor quality.

Key Responsibilities
• Field Data & Trend Analysis: Monitor and analyze dealership warranty metrics (R/1000, CPU, incident rates) using OEM portals and analytics databases to identify early failure trends and top Pareto offenders.
• Parts Return & Teardown Analysis: Inspect, disassemble, and evaluate returned chassis warranty parts (control arms, bushings, steering gear, ball joints, brake calipers/rotors, dampers) to assess physical failure modes.
• Root-Cause Investigation: Lead technical problem-solving teams using standard automotive methodologies (8D, 5-Why, Ishikawa/Fishbone, Fault Tree Analysis).
• Corrective Action Implementation: Partner with Product Engineering (DREs), Plant Quality, and Tier 1 suppliers to define, validate, and introduce design or manufacturing counter-measures.
• Supplier Recovery & Responsibility:



Coordinate technical responsibility assessments and chargeback investigations between OEMs and Tier 1/Tier 2 chassis suppliers.
• Lessons Learned & Feedback Loop: Translate field failure data into actionable design updates (DFMEA/PFMEA reviews) to prevent recurrence on current and upcoming vehicle platforms.

Requirements:

Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.

Experience:
3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in automotive warranty, reliability, or quality engineering (OEM or Tier 1 supplier).
• Chassis Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of chassis mechanical behavior, fatigue life, NVH issues, corrosion, lubrication breakdown, and manufacturing/assembly defects.
• Quality Methodologies: Demonstrated expertise in 8D methodology, Root Cause Analysis, DFMEA/PFMEA, APQP/PPAP, and standard metrology/inspection tools.
• Analytical Tools: Proficiency in data manipulation (advanced Excel, Power BI, or statistical tools like Minitab) and OEM warranty database management.
• Languages: Professional working fluency in English (written and spoken) is required.
