As a Communications Associate, you will be the voice of this transformation, turning complex technological shifts into human stories that resonate with journalists and the public alike. You’ll join a team of high-energy storytellers who manage our reputation across dynamic markets, ensuring that the benefits of our mobility and delivery platforms are front and center in every conversation. Working in Comms at Uber means moving at the speed of the news cycle in an environment where the stakes are high and the answers aren't always in a playbook. You’ll need to balance proactive campaign building with the grit required to handle reactive, high-profile media inquiries under pressure. This role is for a self-starter who finds energy in ambiguity and is motivated by the challenge of shaping a narrative that impacts thousands of earners. Earner Comms is a critical bridge between business priorities and tailored earner engagement to help position Uber as the preferred platform. What You’ll Do
• Own and strengthen earner trust: Identify and elevate credible earner stories across earned media, community channels, and strategic communications initiatives.
• Build relationships: Identify and develop trusted relationships with earners to position Uber as a platform that listens, responds, and delivers meaningful improvement for their experience.
• Shape the narrative: Translate Uber’s earner priorities into compelling narratives that can resonate within earners. Strengthen direct communications and engagement through our channels and targeted earner networks.
• Provide feedback: Establish feedback loops with other teams to ensure earner perspectives are reflected in communications strategies and operational improvements. Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree




• 4+ years of professional experience in media relations, journalism, or a corporate communications role.
• Exceptional storytelling skills with a proven ability to understand an issue from all sides and advocate for a clear position.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust with executives and partners across a general organization.
• A creative problem solver who can identify emerging trends and build impactful campaigns from scratch with limited information. Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working in a fast-paced technology or consumer-facing industry where navigating tension and heat is part of the job.
• Experience building relationships with communities and creating opportunities for two-way dialogue. Ability to anticipate reputational risks and coordinate timely, accurate and emphatic communications during business or regulatory changes. Ready to Ride?
