About the Role

Our client, a prominent financial services company, is seeking a highly experienced Ingeniero de Datos Senior to join their innovative Investigación y Desarrollo team. This role, based in our Zapopan, Jalisco office, operates under a hybrid work model, promoting a blend of collaborative office work and remote flexibility. You will play a pivotal role in designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and infrastructure to support advanced analytics and machine learning initiatives. We are looking for a data architect with a passion for data quality, efficiency, and enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization. Your expertise will be crucial in shaping the future of our data platform.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and optimize robust and scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines.
- Build and manage data warehouses and data lakes on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Implement data quality frameworks and ensure data integrity across all data assets.
- Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand their data needs and provide reliable data solutions.
- Develop and maintain data models that support analytical and reporting requirements.
- Monitor data pipeline performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement performance improvements.
- Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in data engineering and big data.
- Document data pipelines, data models, and data governance policies.




- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior data engineers.

Requirements

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- 5+ years of professional experience in data engineering or a similar role.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with at least one major programming language (Python, Java, Scala).
- Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS Redshift, S3, Glue; Azure Data Factory, Synapse; GCP BigQuery, Dataflow).
- Experience with big data technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, or similar distributed processing frameworks.
- Familiarity with data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and data governance.
- Experience with orchestration tools like Airflow or Prefect.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, suitable for a hybrid work environment.
